I absolutely positively no way in hell will ever get in the middle of a tiff between a group of girls. I might act as a mediator at most but definitely keep any opinion I might have to myself.

Plus I already have a rapport with the previous girls and like them as well, don't wanna lose that.

I don't know if she's gonna be a permanent edition to the team or if she'll be leaving in a couple of months, but something has to give.

Like how catty girls are, it's a lot. I feel really bad, they just held a going away party for another colleague and didn't invite this new girl.

She was asking me where all the girls were (she didn't know about the party) and I took her to the office where they were holding the party (don't know if it was my place to do that, I just kinda felt bad for her)

I like her well enough, but it's not like I can use this to my advantage to be with her more, so the situation is just that I'm awkwardly put in the middle between this new girl and the previous girls at the office.

It is weak. Good fucking god did you see what they did at the ending? When you beat the game and talk to all the characters, they have nanako say "I want to marry you big bro." And dojima is like "yeah you better."

They actually wrote that and left it in. I've never really hated Japan and the otaku lifestyle like most seem to, I was just indifferent to it. But ruining a moderately endearing relationship with a line like that just makes me hate that love of incest they have. It just really rubbed me the wrong way because I considered nanako to be the heart of the game, the innocent as it were.

Yeah hockey should be fun.

I don't know if we can prove this like, empirically, but yeah I remember having fun with vanilla p4 and enjoying it (then again it was like 8 years ago) but feeling that p4 golden that I played last year is pretty damn boring.

I'm just worried that persona 5 falls into the same pitfalls that p4g falls into.

I'm reconsidering whether I still like the format of the persona games. When I played p3 fes nearly a decade ago, I thought the approach was novel with the whole social sim elements impacting the dungeon crawling elements.

Social links making your persona more powerful was fun back then. And I liked vanilla persona 4 as well.

But playing p4 golden...

It's funny, I thought I wouldn't like this game because it was on a small screen and they changed chie's voice actress. And while the new voice actress was incredibly grating the first few hours of the game, I got used to it and it wasn't a deal breaker.

But what really made me dislike it was just how padded the extra section they did in winter felt. And I no longer like the social links, especially with the girls where they all become submissive, no personality robots that makes me really dislike what japanese find attractive in a woman. The whole shy submissive stuff got on my nerves, especially when all 5 girls are doing it for God's sake.

So this makes me apprehensive about whether or not I'm gonna like p5. It's set in high school again instead of college, and I don't want another case of the girls being robotic mindless drones that love the protagonist and don't have an identity of their own.

Also p4's story was eh, the murder mystery element that started so good was kinda disappointing, and the game is really more about the characters and Scooby gang feel which was nice, save for the social link element completely changing the characterization of the girls. I don't know if p5 has a better story, gameplay, social link element than p4g

Huh that's interesting, my colleague told me or at least asked me to take the new girl off her hands. That works out great for me because I like the new girl but am making it seem like I'm doing the other 2 girls a favor by taking her off their hands.

It's still amazing how catty girls are though. The new girl has picked up on the other girls' cold reception towards her and is complaining about it to me. I need to remain as carefully diplomatic as possible while lending a sympathetic ear because I definitely do not want to get in the middle of it. All my words are ones of encouragement like "if you need anything just let me know" and "call me any time" which she has taken liberally. But I won't badmouth anyone else to the other and won't take part in who's "right"

Especially when you hear about a director shooting 8 hours of footage and yet being forced to condense that to a 3 hour movie, or less even. I wanna see all that other footage, it's such a waste of film rolls to not see everything or at least have the option to for those interested.

An incredibly helpful free service. Sure you need to pay for th internet to access, but once that's done you have this application that tells you the best route, notifies you of any traffic to avoid, and even recommends areas to visit. And you don't pay for this specific service.

Same thing with the Google search engine as a whole.

But now... now with what's happened, does it mean that you will need to pay individually for a search engine? For google maps? Whatever problems I have with the service, I always say eh it's free. But if I had to pay a subscription fee for it or something... I dunno.

Have you seen the website lostmedia? They mention a lot of scenes in movies that were filmed but never released on any home media and never seen by anyone.

I'll check it out thanks! Out of the many movies that have this issue, I'm thinking of once upon a time in America that reportedly suffered the most from being chopped up.

Especially with regards to seeing every scene being shot, regardless of whether or not it's in the final movie. Seeing everything that was left on the cutting room floor. That would be so cool.

Book spoilers.

The basic idea was that an intelligent civilization wouldn't send out actual people to every corner of space but would instead send out tons of probes. That's why they found them in multiple places in the solar system. In the book, the probe appears on Earth and just sits in the same spot scanning the inhabitants. It's implied that the process of scanning somehow triggers the hominids to think in different ways, which led to the iconic scene with the bone. There's more stuff that leads up to that scene in the book. It's not really implied that its purpose was to make them smarter, though. It was just a side effect of the scanning.

Huh that's actually kinda interesting. But don't really see how scanning can trigger the evolutionary process.
