Ultima Online

Isn't the original one still running?

There are a few servers, but it's pretty much unplayable at this point. It's the video game equivalent of playing in molasses with a tiny screen.

Ah, I haven't played in a LONG time but I never saw anything about it shutting down either so I assumed it was still up and running. Unfortunately if we do get anything new at this point I'm sure it would be some horrible licensed freemium MMO since I can't see EA investing real money in it.

Yeah that would be a nightmare. Honestly the game could really just use a remaster and I would still be interested in it.

Update the UI, update the resolution, make it a little easier to control now days and maybe fix some of the long since identified bugs and I'd be fine.

They would need to figure out how to balance the economy. The inflation in that game was insane.

I... guess?

iirc it ended with the baby dragon talking to Twilight's tombstone and her voice rings out and she says "I'm not gone because I'll always be with you," or something of that nonsense.

And I realized, people LOVE stupid shit. I was actually invested for a little bit.

But how the fuck did you know about the title of an obscure angsty toy drama?

I googled Twlight Sparkle and Stitch and it was the first result.

I guess Xmas is pointless in the sense that you could write Christmas instead, but that's a really bizarre point to make--people have been shortening words forever--and doesn't have much to do with the "atheists can't celebrate Christmas" point the topic claimed to be about.

The x in xmas is the greek letter chi which is where christ comes from so it is pointkess and makes them look dumb

Yes, which is exactly where Xmas originated.

"Xmas is a common abbreviation of the word Christmas. It is sometimes pronounced /ksms/, but Xmas, and variants such as Xtemass, originated as handwriting abbreviations for the typical pronunciation /krsms/. The "X" comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word , which in English is "Christ". The "-mas" part is from the Latin-derived Old English word for Mass."

You make it sound like people use Xmas to avoid saying Christ.

The swimming pool was always somewhere else, and used by different schools and other parties.

Our pool was at the school and I know we weren't school in the region that had one. We were the only school with a diving pool though, so a lot of the swim competitions were held at our school.

A company having a new car model in a Bond movie is the greatest compliment, honour and marketing campaign you could ever wish for. Especially if the camera sweeps around the interior and exterior as much as possible.

Well if it was for the very first film nobody knew what the series was going to grow into. The budget for Dr. No was small, so it probably didn't inspire a lot of confidence that the movie was going to be a blockbuster.
