I'm not a fan of the President at all but yeah, that is kind of beyond the line a little, lol.

Also while I can see the perspective that Trump is taking credit for the good things he mentions, it seems silly to not applaud low unemployment rates and little Billy who did some such to honor veterans or whatever.

I like Spider-man Homecoming.

But Peter Parker starting out with personal connections to Tony Stark, getting an 'internship' at his company (that covers his secret life) and being handed a bunch of gadgets just doesn't really feel as relatable as Spider-man usually is. I guess it's unavoidable with how they introduced him into the MCU.

Same here, I enjoyed it but it felt "off" for those reasons.

That whole page is painful, looking at what a lot of people want money for. My wife and I had a very modest little wedding and a super cheap honeymoon (like a few hundred bucks) because that was all we could afford, apparently we were supposed to ask strangers on the internet to give us money so it could all be nicer.

The internet didn't give me money to go to college, I worked and went to community college, sometimes having to take a quarter off or only go part time to save up more money, because that's what I could afford. Or get loans if you have to.

Voted "not on the 20th, but by the end of the year," but honestly I don't know if I will by then or not. I suppose if it gets super cheap on Black Friday I might. Like the series but as others have said this looks a lot different, and I'm pretty limited in time to play and have a huge backlog, so just not feeling the need to get it day one and bump it to the top of my play list.

I guess if reviews and word of mouth are incredible I may reconsider getting it sooner, though.

I was a kid, so I found most of my channels were safe, but I remember my mom complaining that literally every "grown up" channel was just showing 9/11 stuff again and again.

That's when she started watching Golden Girls reruns like crazy, because the channel that ran them was just about the only one not showing 9/11

I'm pretty sure even the kids channels were showing news the first couple days or so.

You know, it sort of begs the question whether or not those channels did it cause it was the right thing to do or because they knew they were losing a shit ton of ratings.

I thought it was kind of silly, because if you have ESPN and TNN and USA and QVC, etc, then you also had the cable news networks and the broadcast channels, so I'm not sure what the point was, really. I mean its super important and I guess ESPN isn't going to have a lot to say about sports during the crisis, but Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network and TNN could've kept their cartoons and Dukes of Hazard reruns going so people weren't FORCED to watch.

Actually, that was a thing. For anyone who noticed, it was the first time it became clearly obvious as to how homogenized the broadcasting industry had become.

Yeah, as I recall literally every station was carrying news, so you saw what parent company was behind each station because you really only had like 5 or 6 different channels broadcast across 70 stations or whatever.

Because I was talking to Republicans tonight who say they love him and they didn't care that he was meant as a parody.

Libertarian =/= Republican

Anyway, I LOVE both shows, both in my top three probably, but I like The Office better I think. Tough call, though. After multiple rewatches I think the Office holds up better, P&R has some great moments still but I get more tired of it, and the first two seasons become more of a drag especially.

Yeah I should clarify that this is the kind of homeschooling I meant and more often than not its been the case for people Ive seen IRL

That's definitely what made up most of homeschoolers when I was school age, but while I currently know families that are homeschooling for those reasons, they've told me tales of going to the local homeschool co-op things and now there are actually tons of super liberal people that are homeschooling their kids. I'm not sure what their reasoning is, though. Maybe its just a local anomaly.

Haha. I don't think that's always the case, though... I went to a private Christian school that I assume had similar curriculum to some homeschoolers and yeah, in science you'd get a couple days of all the young earth theory and stuff, but then it was basically, "That's what we believe... but now we are going to spend the rest of the quarter teaching you what you'll actually need to know when you go to college." I think that's fine considering.

They will probably just kick off a phase with the mutant gene being officially discovered and more mutants hitting the age their powers manifest (but a few old ones will have been around all along, Magneto, Xavier especially), and bring in the classic team (plus maybe Wolverine makes it in early, because Wolverine) with an all new cast. I don't think they are going to go to the trouble to merge realities or something that elaborate.
