I work it retail and yesterday i saw that someone brought back a new 2 disc movie and said that 1 of the discs was missing. They let him return it. Do you think something like this is even possible?

Both of my parents have needed glasses most of their lives. My mother insisted Id need them so when I was 17 she took me to the optometrist. I dont know if I flubbed the test or if he had a quota to fill but he said I needed them. So I got a pair of prescription sunglasses.

I tried them on once, immediately took them off, and never wore them again.

Because I had prescription sunglasses, my school had to let me wear them to see, and I would just wear my regular round rimmed sunglasses in school. Pissed kids off something fierce.

About 6 or 7 years ago. Maybe longer I started to go blind. I couldnt read a large print Glasses Required sign from my bench. So I went and had my eyes checked and they were really bad. Turns out I was diabetic. 2 weeks later after taking medication and dropping a couple of things my eyes were back to normal.

A year later I saw an ophthalmologist for a yearly check up, 20/15.

Take that, mom.

So you don't believe that requiring glasses is mostly genetic? My mom thinks it's mostly from reading too much books and watching too much tv.

yeah i've had glasses since like the 5th grade also. Though the prescription hasn't changed in many years. It's a strong prescr. too.

You use the marking excuse but every time I've marked a post that very much breaks the rules, it gets ignored. And you say mods don't patrol the boards, yet I've been marked and suspended for a post less than 30 seconds old, you can't claim someone marked it and it went through the queue that quickly.

Its shit like that which has made me part of the problem on this website. The mods are toxic so I'm toxic as well.

i do kinda agree with you chicken i think this site is modded unevenly some stuff gets through the cracks and i've heard many mods say that they can only act on marked posts when i for a fact have been modded without having been marked first.

I think it is suitable for the sex/ sexuality board or the adult hobbies boards so you might be wrong on that. I believe that kind of discussion is allowed on those boards without being modded. Idk i've seen similar on ce too where that topic was posted.

On, ask the mods and pretty much all the system boards you can't ask about specific moderations. They always say use the dispute system but i cannot. It was over the 3 day limit where i could dispute anything. Any suggestions? I would like a second opinion on this one. I don't necessarily agree with it.

The article stated that charles darwin was a notable night owl, some others that i can't remember now. And they didn't even have light bulbs during darwin's time

In most countries I support very strict gun control. However, the cat's out of the bag in the US. You can't remove all the guns already there, especially the ones in the hands of the criminals. So my view for the US is the opposite - remove all gun control laws, as the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun

stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, there was an article in the new sci. american and it used stats to back up the claim that more guns leads to more violence and in most homes with a gun it is much more common for the gun to be used badly than to protect against intruders etc.

Yeah I've seen that a few times where they'll tag people so they have people to help argue or whatever they're doing against someone who they don't know

And a separate question do you support making it tougher for those with a mental illness to buy a gun? Iirc after virg. tech if you have been inv. admitted to a mental inst. then you are not able to buy a gun. Would you want something even tougher than that? Was the vegas shooter declared mentally ill? I did not hear? Did he obtain his gun legally? Didn't read what type of gun or guns he used
