What were things like before it?

The laws were implemented due to an increase in throttling practices.

In all likelihood things won't get really bad for another decade or two as ISPs try and sneak it in without anybody noticing so they don't face immediate backlash.

I managed to lose as the yeti.

What I found interesting is that none of the new skins were Christmas related, just generic winter skins. Similar to how half the summer games skins a few months ago were generic summer skins rather than sports related.

I don't have a problem with it, it gives them more freedom.

I would have liked Rein Santa though.

Also the physical mechanics behind how he was outsmarted were a bit...absurd.

A lot of it is due to food related policies, but this is partly a consequence of ruling over a large country with known food problems and trying to experiment with new food related policies. Similar to what happened with Mao. A lot of it is argued to have been a deliberate population purge though. Hard to say.

It gets more complicated if you're trying to look at what Stalin was personally responsible for, as opposed to the policies of those working for him. The famous Russian purges were carried out mostly on the instructions of the head of the secret police from my understanding, who later ended up being killed on Stalin's orders himself. It's arguable if you want to blame Stalin primarily for that, though he certainly shares a great deal of responsibility for it.

But I still don't have a new job, so I'm not sure if that makes me a good or bad person to listen to for advice in this case. Anyways, if you think it's something you'll like doing for a long time and don't care that much about money or long-term career outlook, then it doesn't really matter. And I know you haven't actually received an offer yet, but it sounds like you'd be hesitant if you do get one.

That's kind of it yeah. I want to get a job close to (or within) the city I live in, because my girlfriend goes to school here, but that's hard.

I haven't been contacted by the majority of jobs I've applied to, but I'm wondering if that may have to do with the phone signal in my office, which is extremely poor. I assumed most employers would email, but both times I've been contacted so far has been via an unannounced phone call, meaning I wouldn't have received it in my office.

I have no intention of working at this place long term, maybe six months to a year before looking for better positions, but I don't know if that looks really shit to other employers.

Should judges exclude prospective jurors after questioning them and determining they do not favor the law which the prosecution seeks to enforce?

If so, why do we still call them random juries? Does that mean the John Peter Zenger jury should have been stacked with crown sympathizers?

Should juries have been stacked in the 1850s to guarantee convictions under the Fugitive Slave Act?

Should judges be punished for thus excluding jurors based on voir dire questioning?

Alfred the Great summarily executed judges who replaced jurors who refused to convict. Would this be a good solution for us to adopt, today? Why not?

Also, late January made him apprehensive? That's nothing, especially factoring in that Xmas/New Year's time is basically two or three dead weeks at some companies.

He told me they were looking to fill the position as soon as possible, and they only stop for a few days for Christmas. From my understanding it's an extremely fast paced and busy work environment. I'm not really sure how many people you'd be able to find looking for jobs around Christmas time though, so I dunno how much it matters.

It was for a QA tech position at a meat processing plant. It's about an hour away from the city where I live, so I'd need to move into an apartment closer to the place and buy a car.

The guy who interviewed me was pretty young. He was from a similar educational background to mine, and had apparently been working QA for 8 years. He asked me almost no questions, instead preferring to tell me about the job. Is this normal? Everything I've heard sounds like interviews are a systematic destruction of the interviewee, but it almost felt like I was a client. IDK if that's a good thing.

He placed a strong emphasis on the fact that the job was entry level with a lot of room for progression in this company or others. IDK if that's something all employers say or not. I don't think this job pays very well and I feel kind of overqualified for it educationally but I'm not exactly picky nor in a high demand field.

I told him I wouldn't be able to start until late January, due to finishing school and otherwise restructuring my life, which he seemed apprehensive about. IDK if I shot myself in the foot here, but I don't want to be scrambling to try and start a new job when I'm otherwise busy.

Anyway PotD, if you could post pics of cute anime girls it would really calm me down, I'm feeling kind of stressed.

Which is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. The question is not "what is the greatest place in the world with slavery and discrimination selectively targeted at ethnic minorities within the population", it's "when was America great".

Zeus is incapable of actually defending most points so he needs to pointlessly deflect to irrelevant topics. I applaud him for not trying to draw a false equivalence between Obama-era policies and 19th century slavery.

As I have said before, slavery was common throughout history, certainly not unique to the US. This is a copy paste from another site. Again though, while slavery was common (especially if you count serfs as slaves), it was not always bad for the slaves. It could be bad (Depending on the owners) and basically gave waaay too much power over others lives to the slave owners, but we just give that power to our governments anyway for the most part, so it's not really that different, it's just slavery on a larger scale. Also, when the slavery is government wide, it makes individual people part of a mass, faceless, and allows for greater cruelty from some people (one thing to let a slave suffer in pain because you won't spend money for a doctor, another thing to just say all poor people get no medical coverage and die if they get sick).

Here is the copy/paste.

Slavery may be wrong but it's occurred almost everywhere and from ancient times:

Religious texts in Judaism, Islam and Christianity all recognise slaves.
The Mayans and Aztecs kept slaves in the Americas.
The Sumerians and Babylonians kept slaves in the Near East.
The Egyptians kept huge numbers of slaves, including the Jews, Europeans and Ethiopians.
The Greeks and Romans kept slaves as soldiers, servants, labourers and even civil servants.
The Romans captured slaves from what are now Britain, France and Germany.
The Ottomans and Egyptians kept slaves and used slave armies.
In Africa there were a number of societies and kingdoms which kept slaves before there was any regular commercial contact with Europeans, including the Asanti, the Kings of Bonny and Dahomey.
In Imperial Russia in the first half of the 19th century one third of the population were serfs, who, like slaves in the Americas, had the status of chattels and could be bought and sold.

The difference is nobody's talking about how fucking great it was back then.
