I think people really underestimate how much a role Sakurai plays in this.

I'll bet anything Sakurai does not want a Smash 4 DX for the Switch. That's simply not his style. He didn't even want to do Smash 4 in the first place, and even then he only wanted to do the 3DS version, it was Nintendo that made him extend it to a Wii U version also. I wouldn't be surprised that after all that, and all the work done for the DLC that he's just fucking tired and wasn't planning on doing anything Smash related for a while.

Now the thing is, Nintendo REALLY wants a Smash game for the Switch. They know it's one of their major titles, and it makes perfect sense to have a game in the series to boost their console. But they probably are trying not to step on Sakurai's toes, especially since how contentious their relationship with him can be. They probably begged him to do a Smash 4 Deluxe and he turned him down. So they're probably wanting a Smash 5 in the works as soon as possible, but I bet Sakurai's holding off. So one of the following may be true:

- Sakurai acquiesced to their demands for a Smash game, but wants to do a new one, so we won't hear about it for a long time.
- Sakurai didn't want to do a Deluxe version of Smash 4, but eventually gave in, which means they weren't able to start work on it as soon as other titles like Mario Kart 8 and Pokken and that's why it's taking so long for us to hear news about it. (I know some people will say that makes no sense since an already released game shouldn't take so long to develop, but I think most people greatly underestimate how much work it takes to simply port a game, particularly if the development team, having thought work on the game was over, moved on to other projects and would have to be brought back together again.)
- Sakurai isn't working on Smash anymore and Nintendo has found another team to do it, which naturally would take a lot of time to work out and, again, it'll be a while before we hear anything about it.

I feel like most people who are surprised that Smash hasn't been announced for Switch yet aren't completely aware of how video games are actually made and how much corporate logistics matter when it comes to developing and releasing them. Even something relatively simple like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is simply a previously released game with handful of new features, only came out so soon after the Switch launch because it was planned and development long before we even knew what the Switch was. Keep in mind, if we use the final released Smash 4 DLC characters as a reference to when development of that game was mostly wrapped up, it was only about a year before the Switch launch. If Sakurai was not already planning on working a Switch version around that time, which is highly likely, then it's not surprising in the least that any new version of that game isn't ready yet. Even new games like Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 2 are only coming out this year because their teams went to work on them pretty much as soon as they were finished with the originals.

It just seems to me that Sakurai would never want to do a rerelease like that and if they were working on one they would have announced it already. Don't get your hopes up.

I think I heard somewhere is that the only difference between placement matches and regular ones is that your SR changes are slightly larger. So you'll generally end up the same place you were before, but you have 10 games to make a bigger difference than normal.

Just want to check- in KHUX, to activate SAB/Guilt, do you literally have to strengthen a medal to 6 dots and then strengthen it again, or is it enough to fuse a medal with enough dots to bump it up to 7?

IE, if I've got two medals with three dots each, can I fuse one on to the other (for a total of four extra dots) and get the SAB, or would the extra dot be wasted and then require another matching medal?

It just requires six dots to activate Guilt, and any fusion that reaches that will do it.

So no, it won't be wasted if you add them all at the same time. The most convenient way to do it is to have one medal with 3 dots and another with 2 dots. Fusing them together makes 5, and you get an extra one because they're the same medal, activating Guilt.

However, you will need to do another fusion to Reroll. Any extra dots won't count for a Reroll, and you can only Reroll once per fusion. And all fusions for Guilt will be wasted if you don't have the Bangle.

You might want to save up for the 1-year anniversary. No confirmation on what they'll do for it, but it's bound to be good. The Japanese got great medal deals.

Your chances at pulling any Super Rare are extremely low. I wouldn't even try unless you had at least enough for five pulls, but even then you probably wouldn't get it unless you're willing to shell out for the guaranteed one at ten.

Why? I'm still not sure how spending money can make you that much more powerful in this game, especially considering how easy it is to rack up loads of jewels for free. Aside from guaranteed super-epics by doing an EMC ten times, I'm guessing it's the VIP quests that make the difference, but what do you actually get from them?

Each of those medals, besides Pooh and Piglet (which is just a boost medal) is Guilted, which means that they owned at least seven of them. Since all them are at +130%, they probably had more than that to boost them higher (they probably used Mirrors for some of it, but I'm positive most of it was just them retrying for higher Guilt). All except for RAX are Super Rare medals, and to get 7 RAX medals you had to place in the highest percent of one of the High Score Challenges, which brings me to my next point, most of the medals have skills that can only have been gotten for placing high in Score Challenges/Coliseum rankings. And that is a +27 Three Wishes, which can only be gotten by beating the Adamantite and Gem quests, which get... hard.

It's not just the medals that the money buys, it's the fact that having super strong medals guarantees you get the stuff that makes you even stronger. That's the power of pay to win.

We finally are getting the Jack Skellington medal in KHUX and it's basically BC Mickey, only free. If you can clear enough missions to Guilt him he'll be pretty damn useful.
