I feel like I should be playing Nia more. I can do her healing and combos better than her AI can, and it's much more important she gets those right than any other character. That said I'm using Rex to level up Common Blades for skills, and it's much easier to do Fusion Combos with him. Hmm.

I made the mistake of playing Tora once though. His auto attack is so slow... and the noise he makes when he jumps is terrible (although it's still better than Fiora's).

7 isn't a very good Star Wars movie.

I remember seeing it for the first time and being pleasantly surprised by how good the dialogue, the acting, and the cinematography was. One of the first things that I thought was "THIS is how the prequel movies should have been directed". After watching those films and expecting more of the same quality, it was a huge breath of fresh air, and you can't compare the two when it comes to how it was crafted

And yet, the film was worse than any of them. The characters were terrible, the story was lame and an uninspired retread, and I while I could enjoy the action and some of the individual scenes, as a whole it left me somewhat disappointed. For all the problems (the MANY problems) the prequels had it did do a pretty great job of worldbuilding, which is one my favorite things about the Star Wars franchise (or any fantasy/sci-fi franchise I'm a fan of). Everything about TFA felt so... small. We had the Rebellion again, and the Empire again, and the Death Star again, just under new names. It felt like they shrunk the universe and made all the previous stories, including the ones from the Original Trilogy meaningless since everything was basically reset. It didn't build off what came before, it just sort of rebooted everything while still technically making it a sequel. So while I can't say it's a better "movie" than any of the prequels since it's more well-made, I don't like it or appreciate more than the prequels. I'd still call it worse than they were.

Honestly I find most of the battles to be too short. It's disappointing not to be able to pull off the big level 4 Fusion Combo you were working on because the enemy couldn't last long enough.

Dont you kinda need to grind it if you want to make any significant progress with Poppi? Ive done it two or three times and didnt get anywhere close to enough resources to really upgrade her.

That was only stage 1 I guess, maybe later stages are more lucrative.

I'm just playing a stage or two every once in a while to upgrade her gradually. At about 1000 crystals per stage at the beginning that's enough for me to get the basics and I'll assume at the pace of pick up later on so that she'll get stronger more or less, probably less, on the same pace as my other party members.

They did it to preserve continuity from the clone wars cartoon. It was an old injury he got from Mace Windu.

Wasn't it the other way around? Lucas decided Grevious would have a bad cough, and the cartoon used crushing his chest in as the explanation why he would sound that way in the movie.

I've read the director's notes or whatever that Nintendo posted, and two things stood out.

- Apparently the first blade you get from a Core is a Wind Knuckles user, but it doesn't say if it still has the same abilities. What kind did everyone else get? I got a Healer named Yomogi. She was pretty useful until I got that better Healer mentioned above.

- You can farm Legendary Cores, although only really late in the game (by Smashing level 100 or higher Unique Monsters.) I wonder how difficult that will be...

Yeah, my draws suck. I can't level up Perun because of her stupid "do good deeds" requirement, so I wanted to put something with Field Skills I needed on Nia, but every single Core I opened (about 8 or so) gave me nothing with Field Skills! On my last Core, I got her another Rare Blade, which is a Water type...

So to recap, my Rare Blades:

A Fire type for Rex, who already has Fire
An Ice for Nia, who I can't level up
A Water type for Nia, who already has Water

If the first and last one were switched it'd be fine, but I don't want to use my Overdrive until I really need it.

In any case, I'm starting to see the value of Common Blades much more. They may not be as strong, but having multiple elements and the right class are so much more important that I'm only using them for now. I managed to find a Healer for Rex that has the Team Heal special as its Level II (all the others I've seen besides Dromarch have it as Level III) and it goes all the way up to 50%. That's done a lot more to help me take on strong Unique Monsters than any Rare Blade I've gotten.

As useful as Skip Travel is it kind of breaks the suspension of belief when I can zip around to locations all around the sky sea while plotwise my characters are all trying to figure out how to obtain a ship, or when I'm inside a fucking whale.

Man, Poppi is such an annoying character mechanics wise. At first I didn't understand how she worked at all. Then once I figured it out, I realized I'd have to play that dumb minigame a million times to level her up (I'm assuming later stages give out more crystals and stuff, but it still seems too much). Then all the stuff I want to craft keeps telling me I need a "Technical Manual" to do it. It doesn't even say that on the menu, it just tells me when I try to choose it. Yeesh. It's a weird design choice to have Poppi start with basically nothing compared to other Blades. No wonder Tora keeps dying like a bitch, he's supposed to be a Tank but doesn't any abilities to help him and he won't get any until I play Tiger! Tiger! enough...

It's a shame because the idea of a fully customizable Blade is really interesting. It kind of feels like that's the type of Blade the main character should have honestly.

I've heard two things about boosters. They supposedly increase the chances of getting stronger blades, and or also determine what element you get.

So the strategy could be to pump them all in the strongest stat you have to get the best blade possible, or to dump them all in the element that you really need.

I saw a tip that if you slightly move after the last hit of an auto combo, you can cancel out of the usual lag and start a new attack combo. It's not that much of a difference, but anything to speed up battles is good.

You can build up arts quick by just moving after the first hit. Also helps with positioning, like if you want to use a Back Attack it's better to jitter it with auto attacks instead of just running around.

Honestly, I don't like that one that much. It's a good song, but it felt so out of place as regular battle theme. It's too serious. It would work better as a boss theme, not when you're fighting a bunch of rabbits.

I like X2's better because it's kind of peppier and more exciting. An instant classic JRPG regular battle theme.
