TopicNoooo the pizza place down the street from where I work is starting to suck :(

They sell pizza by the slice. I stop in for a slice or two for lunch about once a week. Now I take my lunch closer to 1 than 12 so it's a little after their big lunchtime rush has mostly come and gone. I go in, there are no other customers in the store. Two things in the hot box: 1) a full, fresh-looking pepperoni pizza and 2) on the other shelf two remaining pepperoni slices from an older and now almost gone pizza, look like they've been sitting in there for like an hour and are a little dry looking.

I order two pepperoni slices. Now in the past, they would have given slices from the fresh pizza. But nope, the lady gives me the two old and crappy slices.

I've been eating here for lunch once a week for like 3 years. Figuring it was a fluke I gave them another chance, it happened a second time now :(

And no I'm too non-confrontational to have said anything to the lady while she was reaching for the old trash pizza, and again in the past I never would have needed to anyway! Not a new employee either..... I really don't know what I'm gonna do now, I'm genuinely upset by this

I always struggled with the advanced sciences. Basic chemistry I did great in. But my senior year I was invited to this advanced chem class for people who were deemed worthy enough to take it but it was more like advanced algebra 7 or calculus or some s***. Leaps and bounds different from basic chemistry. Really struggled like hell.

The in college I needed 1 science credit to graduate on time and the only class available that semester was an advanced chem class that was supposed to be reserved for nursing majors but they let me take it anyway because of the scenario I ended up in. Barely made it through with a D but it counted

I hate when I'm casually coasting up to a stop sign, but then someone else flies up to the intersection and stops on a dime. Then you genuinely don't know who got there first. But then I wait excepting them to go. They wait expecting me to go. Then we do that stupid wave thing to say "you go first" at virtually the same time. Then we both start going. Then we both stop. Then we both do the wave thing again. Fucking Christ I'd rather the other driver just blow the stop sign in the first place

^I've noticed an influx of bad drivers all over the place within about the last decade as well. My theory is that with the way modern society is, more and more young people are waiting until after 18 to get their license and there's no need to learn at 16 anymore. Here in PA once you turn 18 you can take the permit test (which is stupidly easy) and the drivers test in the same day without any experience at all behind the wheel and without actually learning anything at all (and the drivers test here is also stupidly easily you literally drive around in a circle and park, I have no idea what other states are like)

Most frustrating one for me is nowadays the number of drivers on the highway who attempt to yield or slow down for merging traffic on the ramp when it's supposed to be the other way around is absolutely mind-numbing. I maybe used to encounter this once a year or something, now it's like a daily occurrence.

I was looking for a minifridge for beer in my game room and looked around online. My #1 choice was sold out, so I went for my backup, an Arctic King sold at Wal-Mart. It was on sale online (like $60 off), but I wanted to pay cash and receive it that day, so I checked on the website for information on their price matching policy, which confirmed that in-store would always match the lowest listed price as long as it was on their official website and not a 3rd party retailer.

Drove to Wal-Mart, grabbed the fridge off the shelves, went to the register, they rang it at full price, I had the online store up on my phone and asked for a price match.

They tried telling me that wasn't their policy, despite me pulling the price match policy up on the website to show them. Escalated to two supervisors and then the store manager.

Wild part is the online store had free shipping, so they were going to have me go home and buy the fucking fridge online, pay the credit card transaction fees from their end, and then pay again to ship it to me, rather than just handing it to me for cash in the store. So fucking stupid. Finally the store manager relented and gave it to me with a warning that the website would be updated shortly and they would not offer price matching if I came in again.

Great fridge though.

They can just decide not to offer price matching to one single person ever again, for simply reading their own policy to them and expecting them to follow it? Weird

...to the speaker (this was late at night). So I pulled into a parking space, put an online order in for pickup at the drive thru on my phone, waited like 2 mins, the went back into drive thru. Lady says "We're doing online orders only" and I'm like, "yes I did order online." Got my order and left.

What reminded me of this was I was just reading a story on Reddit where OP was unable to get an advertised discount for takeout at a pizza place because it was for "phone orders only," so he walked outside, called and placed the order on his cell, went back inside 5 mins later and got the discount.

Do you have any weird stories/scenarios similar to these? I don't know what you call this, like some sort of weird technicality that you're easily able to exploit or work around?

What I have been getting regularly for years I don't think I would call "spam," but for a long freaking time now I have been getting calls from multiple business mostly area SE Georgia asking for a woman named Suzanne. Not just asking for her, but following up with requests for their services.

Like a couple weeks ago I kept getting calls from car dealerships to follow up with Suzanne who apparently was looking at their specific vehicles. Before that, I had truck rental companies calling and asking Suzanne if she was still interested in their moving trucks.

I've had landscaping services call to give quotes for Suzanne, travel agencies call for Suzanne, it just never fucking ends. Even when I go into stores like PetSmart, HomeDepot, CVS, Etc where you put in your phone number for rewards or whatever, her goddamn name pops up as an option along with mine. It's been driving me nuts. Who the fuck is this and why does she give my number out to all these places?

I wondered if maybe our numbers are very similar and she's accidentally mixing some digits up, but I got annoyed one day a few months ago to the point where I actually dialed like 5 or 6 phone numbers that were very similar to mine with slight variations hoping I could get in touch with her and ask her to stop. While each person did answer, none of them were Suzanne, so I politely apologized for dialing the wrong number and tried the next.

I just want this crazy years long Suzanne saga to end.

I had a similar experience but not quite as dynamic. When I got my first smartphone and a new number I kept getting these calls every single day, I don't know if they were from attorneys or collection agencies or what, but they always left voicemails saying "This message is for Cindy [last name], if this is not Cindy [last name] please disconnect this call, please give me a call at [number]." One of them even ended with, "Cindy, this isn't going away, you can't ignore this."

Similar to you, Cindy's info often popped up when I would sign up for rewards cards at local stores with my phone number, as it was obviously her old number that she changed.

Eventually I got a new number, but I got those calls every single day for as long as I had that number

A bit unfamiliar with basketball and its history, but I was curious so I looked it up, I thought that like the 80s maybe they played each other in the NBA finals like 3 times. Nope. 7 freakin' times over a span of 11 finals from 1959 through 1969 inclusively with the Celtics winning every single one of those matchups.

Elgin Baylor was 0-8 in the finals retired without a championship, though he was technically on the '72 Lakers team that won it he retired midseason and they won without him. That's absurd
