Since I'm one of the mods in that topic you linked to, I just want to make it clear that, at that moment in time, there was zero indication Fandom had any plans to close down any boards and my statement was accurate. Up until recently, boards were very rarely closed down/removed by the administration.

Almost 7 million posts, and a decade of political history, just gone without a trace. And for the record, most Mods (despite their attitude/comments in this topic) were in favor of simply upping the Karma requirement for the board and seeing if that helped cut down on the more severe trolling, but Fandom clearly went in a different direction.
