congrats! hope you enjoy your new height

what's the recovery period like for that surgery?

From my understanding it's one year for each surgery, so two years total

Yes, my lfemur will be broken and a metal rod will be inserted into it. Slowly the rod will increase in length and lengthen my femur bone by 3 inches.

Growing up I had everything going for me. I was an athletic scholar at my high school, and was on the varsity soccer team in 10th grade. I was on the track and field team and went to states for the 800m.

I was accepted into college with a scholarship and majored in mechanical engineering. I got several great internships, with Honda, Ford, and now I have a 6 figure job in my mid 20s. I had all this success, but there was something that always bothered me.

I was 5'9. I wasn't even in the top 50th percentile of height guys in America. If a 6'2 guy walked into the room I was immediately dwarfed by him.

For the past 3 years I have been saving money for leg lengthening surgery. I will get one surgery on my femur that will raise my height by 3 inches to 6'0. I will then get another surgery on my tibia to raise my height another 1.5 inches to 6'1.5. This will be a 2 year process of surgery and recovery, but at the end I will be in the 93rd percentile of height. I will be who I am meant to be.
