Drat! She got me.

All I hear about every day from my female coworkers is how much they worship Taylor Swift.

One of them just recently got married and said that she tried to go for a Taylor Swift theme in her wedding photos.

Another said that she switched banks because she saw an ad with Taylor Swift in it and "if it's good enough for Taylor Swift, it's good enough for me" as if Taylor Swift is an actual customer and not a paid spokesperson.

I can understand young people (teens) being influenced by pop stars, but these are grown women. Why does Taylor Swift have such a hold on these people?

Sounds to me you want some customised stuff, and bought it from someone aiming at bigger customers.

Possibly, but they have "no minimum quantity" plastered all over their website which is why I thought they'd be perfect for my needs.

As far as customization goes, I gave them the design I needed, all they need to do is print it.

Did they not have other works with prices shown?

The only pricing info shown on their site says "Cheap Prices" and "as low as 29 cents per patch". I understand that 29 cents per patch is if you order a bulk quantity so I didn't expect to pay that low, but roughly $66 per patch is way higher than I anticipated based on this guideline.

Really? Are you saying that the company hand-sews these patches?

I just assumed they put it into their computer and a machine sews it for them, similar to a 3D printer.

What's a patch?

It's a small piece of fabric that you sew onto an article of clothing as a decoration (or to repair a tear).

I wanted to have 3 patches made for a Halloween costume. Two of them are 4" wide and the third is 10" wide.

I've been working with a salesperson via email for the past few days and today they informed me that the total would be $199. I was totally caught off guard when they quoted this price. I thought it would be around $10-$15 per patch, $20 at most.

Was I deluding myself this entire time? Is $199 a reasonable price for 3 patches?

Needless to say, that is way over my budget and way more than it's worth for a one-time Halloween costume so I cancelled the order.

The alleged sharks only appear for about half a second before going back under. Also, I would assume most people were looking at the kid and would have easily missed the sharks since they disappeared as quickly as they appeared.

I'm not sure how else anyone can explain why the kid suddenly took a quick u-turn away from the rescue float, why he suddenly went under, and why he was never found.

I'm not saying they were definitely sharks, but considering the fact that officials have stated these waters are heavily infested with sharks it seems like a very plausible explanation.

I don't believe it's a wave. It looks like not one but two sharks in the water, and they dove under to attack the kid from below.

A few seconds later, the kids body slowly fades to darkness which would indicate that he was pulled under by said sharks.

Just because it happens, that doesn't somehow make it excusable.

A lot of people drive drunk and kill innocent people that way, too. That doesn't make drunk driving excusable.

Everyone seems to be talking about how he did this because he was drunk and he wasn't thinking.

So he was on a business-owned boat and the servers served him alcohol which is illegal because he's underage, yet nobody is talking about that.

People who believe in God also believe that when it's your time to go, it's your time to go. There is no avoiding it. Assuming that's true, God would not have warned the parents because it was the infant's time to go.

Their prices are damn expensive, considering the quality of their food. Their food always sucked, but at least you got a lot. Outside of coupons their prices are ridiculous. They now cost basically the same or often more than their competitors.

Large Combos
* BK: Whopper ----- $12.98
* Wd: Double ------- $13.29
* Mc: Big Mac ------ $13.79
* CJ: West Bacon - $13.20

Premium sandwiches might be in line with competitors, but BK and Wendy's both offer cheaper options, McDonald's doesn't.

BK and Wendy's both have value menus where customers can get good food at budget prices. McDonald's claims to have a value menu, with their $1, $2, $3 menu but it's a complete joke. They have nothing for $1, and the cheapest option is $2.19.

BK has also had a 2 for $X deal for years where customers can buy 2 premium sandwiches for $6-$7. Wendy's has "meal deals" and "biggie bags". McDonald's has absolutely nothing like those.

I honestly don't understand how they're losing that badly to McDonald's. Their prices are so much better. McDonald's is the most expensive of the big 3 (McDonald's/Burger King/Wendy's).
