"Brose must've been party to something illegal," you say. "Something the casino is doing and they had Brose do it, and then it didn't go well, so they have to pretend he was never there."

"Right, right," Robin says with a nod. "He was losing money after doing so well, so he was desperate to make back what he lost."

And just as you and Robin put it together, Vyse and Grady put it together that Brose was losing money, the casino offered him a way out but that meant he had to do something illegal for them. It didn't go well given Brose died, so Haviaras told everyone to keep quiet.

"Action and mystery movies don't have the same punch when it's basically our lives, huh?" Raven asks.

"Is the mud cake ready yet?" Argent asks.

"Almost," you say. "And even after I bring it out of the oven, it still needs to cool so I can pour glaze on it."

Vyse and Grady go back to the Rhea River Hotel with a warrant and forensics team and they sweep the entire estate, both the building and the grounds around it, for any evidence of what happened to Brose. And they find blood. Haviaras has a point, they can't be sure whose blood that is, so the forensics team does their best to sample the blood and rush it to the lab.

But Vyse doesn't like the delay. Now Haviaras has time to do something about what's going on here. In fact, he's had since Vyse and Grady first showed up here. But what're they to do? Going back there won't do anything, Haviaras has scared the casino employees into staying quiet and and Larosa into choosing death over talking. Vyse thinks hard on what they can do.

A) Find that other shady guy Larosa was with
B) Recreate the circumstances that got Brose in deep with the casino

"What about an action movie?" you suggest.

"Ooh, yeah, there's one I've been meaning to watch," Beast Boy says. "Battle of Blood!"

Robin takes the remote to search that and find it on the On Demand menu, just like Slumber Party Massacre.

"Isn't that one also rated R?" Robin says.

"What're you so worried about?" Cyborg asks. "At least this one is just about violence, not lewd stuff."

"I guess..." Robin says, still a bit nervous.

Beast Boy presses play, and as things begin, it is already apparent this is low level 1980s action movie material. Something about that makes it fun already.

Story wise, this seems like a knockoff of Bloodsport with Jean-Claude Van Damme. The main character, Jesse Vyse (pronounced like "vice"), is a young man trained in martial arts, joins the police and becomes a detective, as opposed to Jean-Claude playing Frank Dux who was in the American military.

But to the point, Detective Vyse works homicide and is on the case of a body drifting in Seafoam City Bay. And though bloated from being in the water, it's clear this man was pummeled and beaten.

"Did someone hate this guy or what?" Detective Grady, Vyse's partner, says.

"But there are also defensive wounds," Medical Examiner Fry says as he shows them the man's hands. "See? This is the kind of bruising from punching and hitting something with fists, and these are bruises from guarding."

"So he fought this someone and lost," Vyse surmises.

"And lost big," Grady says. "We gotta ask around, see who saw this guy before the fight."

Identification is difficult from the battered and bloated face, and there's nothing in the man's pants pockets, but fingerprints help. This is one David Brose, gym teacher for Seafoam High School. Vyse and Grady of course go to the school to ask about Mr. Brose.

"A big strong guy, but not the kind of guy who would get into fist fights," Vyse says after the interviews.

"Wait, isn't that his parking spot?" Grady asks as they pass a line of cars.

They see the sign reading "Mr. Brose," but parked in the spot is a red Ferrari 308 GTS.

"What's a gym teacher doing with a car worth one and a half times his salary?" Grady asks.

"Time to look into his financials," Vyse says.

The detectives return to their Buick Skyhawk Type T, and then things cut to back in the precinct. They get the bank records, and see quite the roller coaster. Mr. Brose was making fairly big withdrawals of a couple thousand dollars, then making incredibly big deposits in the tens of thousands. And credit card records show him having a room at the Rhea River Hotel, known for having a casino.

"Mr. Brose was a gambler," Vyse says.

"And a good one to be multiplying his money like that," Grady says. "Oh, maybe not that good. Looks like the deposits started falling off."

"Maybe he got desperate," Vyse says. "Remember what that one kid said about a guy talking to Brose behind the gym?"

"Loan sharks don't usually kill the people that owe them," Grady says. "But they do hang around casinos. Let's go check it out."

The detectives go to Rhea River Hotel and find the casino. And we get a glimpse of some rather shady characters as they watch the detectives.

The mud cake is done with phase one, so you take it out, loosely cover with foil, and put it back in the oven to cook for another hour.

Back in the movie, the detectives ask employees, from dealers to cigarette girls to the bartender to the manager about Brose. They all deny having seen Brose, but the financial records do get the manager to sweat. They ask to see video of the last few weeks, since they know cameras are in the casino to keep the players honest. The manager concedes and lets them see the footage, and they have proof Brose was here and 90% of the employees were lying just now.

The manager sweats more, knowing he and the employees are in trouble for hindering the investigation, but then the manager's boss walks in. He introduces himself as Ludovico Haviaras, and he smooths things over, saying with all the guests they see, his employees can't be expected to remember everyone that come in. Vyse counters with how video also goes against those claims.

"Brose was a high roller," he says. "He won big, spent big, everyone had a good time when he was around. People tend to remember guys like that."

Haviaras does his best to keep his smile and counters Vyse by asking if there's any evidence as to foul play. There is not, so Haviaras "politely" asks the detectives leave so that the guests can enjoy their stay. Vyse & Grady go but they're both suspicious of Haviaras.

However, looking into Haviaras, he's fairly clean. Some accusations but nothing could ever be proven. But Vyse says nothing could be disproven, either. Vyse suggests they go get Brose's car to see if there are other clues in it.

But as Vyse & Grady return to the school, someone's driving away in it? Grady blocks the Ferrari's path, the driver gets out of the car to complain, but it's one of the shady characters from the casino! And when he realizes it's the detectives, he tries to run for it! Vyse chases the guy down while Grady secures the Ferrari!

The chase in the school leads to a dead end but the shady guy tries to go up the chainlink fence! Vyse catches him and drags him down! The shady guy brings out a knife and gets ready to fight, but Vyse is also ready.

"Finally, some action," Beast Boy says.

Not bad fight choreography for 1980s, but a very dramatic use of slow motion and a lot of spit flying when Vyse lands a back fist on the guy. Vyse tells him to surrender but the guy keeps fighting, so Vyse ends up punching him again, breaking the guy's nose and causing blood to pour out! The shady guy realizes he's caught, so he runs from Vyse to go after Grady. Grady sees the knife, brings out his gun, and though Vyse shouts for him not to, Grady shoots the shady guy to avoid getting stabbed!

Vyse runs up to shady guy and asks how he has the keys to Brose's car. But the shady guy just laughs and lets himself die!

"He wanted you to kill him," Vyse says to Grady. "So that he couldn't tell us the truth."

"Why would he do that?" Grady asks.

ME Fry examines shady guy, Randy Larosa. He wasn't the one who fought Brose, there are no wounds on Larosa that suggest Brose hit him, and none of the bruises on Brose match up to Larosa's hands or feet. Vyse backs that up by thinking on Larosa's fighting style. He went right for a knife, but there are no stab wounds or cuts. The more Vyse thinks about it, Brose looked to have blocked kicks and grapples.

Grady gets frustrated trying to fit the pieces together. Brose is a gambler whose luck was running out. Rhea River Hotel denies seeing him but the cameras say otherwise. Brose's car was being stolen by someone just hours after they visited the hotel (dramatic irony is that only the audience knows Larosa was there). What's connecting all these things?

But then they DO find something that connects Larosa to the hotel, as he has one of their cigarrette packs in his jacket. And Larosa had to have taken notice of Brose to know he had the Ferrari.

"This can't just be a mugging gone wrong," Vyse says. "Why would everyone at Rhea River pretend they didn't know Brose?"

Hmm... so physical Switch games give you these things called Gold Points whenever you insert a cartridge for the first time, and every Gold Point can be used to take one cent off a purchase in the store (so 253 GP means $2.53 off). I wonder, if I still lived near my library, could I borrow every Switch game they have and pop the cartridges in for a bunch of free GP?

that does sound like a possibility. in a way, it encourages trading w/ friends, too, assuming friends have completely different game collections.

"We had dark chocolate, so how about some white chocolate? Perhaps a White Chocolate & Ginger Mud Cake."

"Oooh, sounds good," Argent says. "Let's go."

Everyone regroups at the elevator and heads upstairs. Argent and Jinx go to change into fresh clothes while you get to work in the kitchen.

You preheat the oven to 160 Celsius, aka 320 Fahrenheit, then grease a round cake pan, and then line the pan's base and sides with 3 layers of baking paper, greasing between layers so they stick together.

You melt white chocolate and butter in a bowl and stir it all together until it's smooth. You let this cool for 10 minutes while you crack five eggs and lightly beat them. Then you throw sour cream, flour, ginger, and sugar together with the eggs in a big bowl, add the chocolate and whisk it all together until smooth. This all goes into the pan and then into the oven to bake for the next hour.

Jinx and Argent return, in very cute pajamas. Jinx has a very fluffy nightgown while Argent has red fleece sweatpants and a black tank top.

"Is it ready yet?" Argent asks.

"Sorry, being a cake, it still has about 45 minutes left," you say. "Actually, closer to 90 minutes because it needs a second baking phase, and then the glaze."

"What?" Argent and Jinx say.

"Why'd you go with something that'd take so long?" Raven asks.

"Well, we're already up this late," you say with a shrug.

"Yeah I guess," Raven says. "Let's see if the On Demand remembers where the movie left off."

Raven turns the television on.

"Rorek," she says, "your Malleo bopped a chunk of pixels outta whack."

"Sorry," you say as you see the desaturated spot on the screen.

"Don't worry, I can fix it," Cyborg says.

Cyborg fiddles around with the hardware and that patch regains its color. Raven then goes to the menu and finds Slumber Party Massacre available under "Continue Watching."

"Could we not?" Jinx asks. "We just had our own slumber party surprise, let's watch something that doesn't have murder."

"Perhaps we should check on the others fighting Overload?"

"Yeah, the generator room is on the far side from here," Raven says. "I'll show you the way."

You follow Raven while Robin restrains Gizmo. You go down a hall with several turns, and see a golden orange glow emanating from a doorway. The two of you enter that room, and it takes a moment for your eyes to adjust to the light, but the easy thing to see is the walls are covered in scorch marks.

You then see Cyborg, Argent and Jinx in the room, looking rather frazzled. And you mean that in both the American and British sense. They look frustrated, tired, and the ladies have some burnt locks of hair.

"Where's Overload?" you and Raven ask.

"Right here," Cyborg says as he holds out a rubber square.

The rubber square is a sleeve and inside is a red circuit board. And it looks angry...

"We managed to cut him off from the generator long enough to stick him inside this," Cyborg says.

"Oh, so Overload is a living piece of technology," you say.

"Yep," the others say.

You use some Restoration on Jinx and Argent so their hair is no longer burnt.

"Thanks," they both smile.

"Could you also help our clothes?" Argent asks as she and Jinx look to the scorched parts of their skirts and sleeves.

"I'm sorry, ladies, Restoration magic only works on living things. We'd need actual sewing kits for those."

Now they both pout.

"Well, to make up for that," you say, "I can make more dessert."

The AI-generated game FB page posted one for a Spongebob RPG. I think that could work. It's been going since the 90s and has lots of material to gather from, plus different characters with a variety of strengths and weaknesses. Especially if they add a bunch of original characters and creatures like Mario RPG did. If South Park can get two RPG games, so can Spongebob.

You construct a magic charge and imbue it with Sound magic. You throw the charge at Gizmo, curving it into the gap between all the drones. The charge sticks to Gizmo's force field.

"Cover your ears!" you shout.

Raven, Starfire and Robin cover their ears, and Beast Boy turns into an armadillo, an animal with a horrible sense of hearing.

"OTO BAKUHATSU!" you shout while covering your own ears.

*BANG* The magic charge explodes and you see Gizmo freak out!

"You stinking frag bag, dump scraping, gas sniffing, cluster worm!" he rattles off.

The force field goes down, and now Gizmo is vulernable! Starfire flies in to dropkick him into the wall!

"Wow," you say. "Alright, well..."

The lightbulb turns on and you bring out your moon dust! You throw it all over the shelves and boxes!

"UDARI AFARI!" you shout.

The dust activates with the Durability Charm!

"GWEGLORI SYB!" you add.

Now the items are heat resistant, hopefully enough for the intense energy of the lasers.

"Get ready to move!" Raven says as the green beams dig through her Custos.

"But what about our stuff?" Beast Boy asks.

"Beast Boy, just move!" Robin says as he pulls him out of the way.

Starfire jumps to the same side as they do while you help sweep Raven up and away before she drops the shield. *WHUM* The green lasers crash into the shelving unit! The lasers last only a few more seconds before stopping.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Gizmo laughs at his presumed destruction of the Titans' possessions. "Huh?"

The shelf is still standing! And nothing's on fire!

"Hey!" he shouts. "What gives?!"

"Wow, it actually worked," you say.

"Get him!" Robin says as he points at Gizmo.

There's a FB/Twitter account that posts AI generated video games. It obviously comes up with mostly goofy stuff, but sometimes it makes stuff that looks great.

You look to Raven and lock eyes with her. She nods and you both step forward.

"CUSTOS!" you both shout.

Your white Guardian shield spell layers on top of Raven's black one, and the others stand behind the two of you. Gizmo's drones power up and fire green lasers! The lasers clash with your Custos, and you feel the force of it!

"C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon!!" Gizmo shouts at his drones.

The green laser starts to bore through your Custos!

"Be ready," you tell Raven.

With a sizzle and crackle, the green lasers make it through your Custos and now hit Raven's! She lets out a yelp of surprise and then braces her Custos with both hands. With your Custos already damaged, you take it away. You can't recast it so soon, it's that powerful of a defensive spell. So if you can't block the laser forever, what're you to do?

-The Search Party levels. These consist of finding hidden blocks with no hints on where they are. That's the kinda crap you'd see in a bad custom level.

"Arcana Stella!" you say.

The arcane stars spread out, you have them fly around and you strike a few drones down. Gizmo dodges Robin's birdarangs, shoots back with a plasma gun, but Robin dodges. Starfire also shoots energy but Gizmo uses a force field to defend.

Beast Boy can't fly around with all these drones so he stays low to the ground as a gator. He storms up on Gizmo but Gizmo tries using a cattle prod looking item on him! Gator Beast Boy hisses at him as he stays back.

The drones start to change formation, but it looks so haphazard and assymmetrical, it's hard to understand the point. You just do your best to send your Stella where the drones are, only for them to dodge!

"Careful with the shelves!" Starfire says as your Stella bump into other things. "There are important things in those boxes!"

"Sorry, sorry," you say.

"Hold on," Raven says.

Raven places her magic barriers in front of the shelves.

"Okay, keep going," Raven says.

"Are you sure?" you ask.

"Yes, just trust me," she says.

"Arcana Stella, Corymbus!"

Your Stella gather and become a cluster. You then send them out in all directions! The drones move but a few do get hit. The Stella that miss bounce off of the panels Raven made and they come back to hit drones from behind!

"Wow, just like my Malleo trick earlier," you say.

"Where do you think I got the idea from?" Raven says.

"Ugh, get a room, you love sick sickos!" Gizmo shouts.

The drones now swarm around Gizmo, and you actually see the formation was the planetary symbol for Pluto.

"Protect your valuables from this!" he shouts.

Leaving Plasmus's human form bound in shackles, you and Raven head out of the living room.

"Don't bother with the elevator," she says. "They cut the power to that, too."

"Oh," you say. "Then how'd you... Oh, right, phasing."

Raven swoops you up and uses her shadow phasing to pass down through the floor. You go down and down, and then stop inside the basement. And down here battling Gizmo are Beast Boy, Starfire and Robin. Though it doens't seem to be just Gizmo, as there are a number of black-and-green drones flying around the room!

You help with the swarm of drones by using...

"In that case," you say. "Arcana Malleo!"

You chuck the blunt energy at this mini-Plasmus, getting squishy thumping with every impact.

"Really?" Raven says as she uses ice magic to freeze parts of her mini-Plasmus. "Just pummeling him?"

"It's about knocking him out, isn't it?" you say. "So punching him with magic should work."

Mini-Plasmus 1, that you are fighting, does his best to evade, but you box him in with barriers. You throw more Malleo at him, hitting him in the side of his bulbous torso-head, but he squishes through gaps to keep moving. You follow him around the room and throw more Malleo. He actually deflects one and it hits the television!

"Uh oh!" you say. "Um, that should be okay, right? It doesn't look like it cracked."

You make more barriers to keep Mini-Plasmus 1 from the third and final door of the living room, and then even more barriers to create half a dome around him. Then you throw Malleo after Malleo at him, and they ricochet off the barriers to hit him again! Your attacks hit Mini-Plasmus 1 from all directions and overwhelm him!

Mini-Plasmus 1 wobbles and then flops over in a heap.

"All done over here," you say.

"Okay, we need to put these two back together then," Raven says.

She grabs the frozen Mini-Plasmus 2 with aura, drags him over, and Faraera thaws him out enough so that Raven can slam dunk him into Mini-Plasmus 1 to make regular sized Plasmus again. Given the two halves were both handled so roughly, complete Plasmus is wobbly.

"Arcana Malleo Magnum!" you say as you shoot an even bigger blast.

*WHAMPSHQ* The big blunt blast hits Plasmus full on in the mouth on that torso-head of his, and he falls backwards!

Plasmus's sludge starts to fall away, and at the center of the puddle is a fairly young man, maybe mid 20s, in just spandex shorts, fast asleep.

"Thank you, Faraera," you say to the fire spirit, "but now I'm in need of your sister, Udwa."

"Understood," Faraera says as he takes a bow.

Faraera dissipates, and you use another Druidic circle to bring out the nature spirit.

"Good evening, Rorek VII," she says.

"Hello, Udwa," you say. "If you could, please use something to keep this man asleep. He's quite a danger when awake."

"Hmm, I shall try," she says.

Udwa floats over the sleeping Plasmus and sprinkles a powder like substance on him. Perhaps a kind of pollen.

"Thank you Udwa," you say. "You are dismissed."

"Very well," she says. "Good night, Rorek VII."

Udwa takes a bow and now she disappears.

"Alright," you say. "Oh, wait, where're Jinx and Argent?"

"Downstairs, helping the others," Raven says. "It wasn't just Plasmus that broke in, the power was cut by Overload and Gizmo."

"Something about that makes sense," you say.

A) Go help against Overload

"Yeah, same here," Raven says as she relaxes against you.

"Seriously?" Robin says.

"What? I made lunch, dinner and dessert," you say.

"And... I'm stuffed from eating his lunch, dinner and dessert," Raven says.

"The more of us that check, the faster this gets done," Robin says as he heads for one of the side exits.

"Fine," Raven says with a sigh. "I'll go and check both my room and Rorek's."

Raven floats off the couch.

"Well, guess we'll stay here," Argent shrugs. "We're just using a guest room anyway."

"Yeah, no, you're coming along," Raven says.

Raven picks Jinx and Argent up off the couch and carries them out the side door. It's almost like Raven doesn't want to leave you alone with those two, or vice-versa.

You relax in the dark of the living room, all alone, with wind and rain hitting the big windows. The clouds of this "El Nino" blocks out much of the moonlight but you can still see the waters of the bay rippling with the rainfall.

*plop plup*

You look away from the window, having heard that sound. The sound of something soggy yet hefty falling down. But it couldn't have come from the kitchen side, you and Cyborg were very thorough with the dishes. Wait, how much pudding was left over?

"Silkie, are you in here?" you ask as you sit up. "If you wanted pudding, all you had to do was ask."

You use your magic aura like a flashlight. Doesn't look like there's any creatures on the countertop.

*plop* Another one? And to your right.

You look over that way, and instead use Arcana Stellae. There's something coming out of the vent. Something reddish-purple and chunky. And as you get closer, it doesn't smell all that pleasant.

"Um, Cyborg," you say into your communicator, "when was the last time you cleaned the airducts?"

Your communicator just buzzes and garbles at you. You go to your phone, but it shows no bars.

*plop plop plop-plop-plop* The substance is spilling out into the room more and more!

"Whoa, whoa, hold on now," you say to it; though, what's the point of that? It isn't sentient.

But then the sludge gathers itself up and starts to form a body! It's massive, head and body indistinguishable from each other, with half a dozen big, green, bulbous eyes!

"Oh, that's not right!" you say.

The creature snarls while barring jagged, crooked teeth, then lets out a nasally screech!

"Nope, back you go!" you say as you use barriers as a shovel to scoop the creature!

You work to shove this thing back into the vents but it squishes out in two separate pieces, so now it's like two smaller monsters, three eyes each.

"Well that's just cheating," you say.

A) Use Summoning
B) Call upon Druidic Spirits
C) Use Elemental magics

Don't remember if I mentioned it last topic, but I found out that animal chiropractors are a thing. There's plenty of youtube videos of them performing chiropracty on dogs, cats, and even horses. Yes, it's apparently possible to do it to a horse without getting kicked to death.

It's amusing to see the animals' reactions. Sometimes they'll stop and just process things for a moment, sometimes the dogs will be hostile for a second afterwards because of the initial pain, then realize they feel better and act friendly. Horses will sometimes look back at the guy because they're smart enough to connect the dots.

Cut to Jeff and Neil just walking along with their bicycles. Neil being the troublemaking flirt, he suggests they go by and scare the girls.

"Just a baby scare," he says. "I mean, y'know girls love to scream."

"Seems a little misogynistic," Jinx chuckles.

Jeff doesn't want to but Neil asks, "What's the worst that can happen? I mean, so they get mad at us."

"They could beat the shit out of us," Jeff counters.

They both remember Diane is a three-time judo champ and reconsider. But then they pass by the phone company van Thorn took!

Valerie watches from her house across the street. Trish's friends arrive, but Thorn is also watching. Trish serves Mr. Contant some coffee then answers the door. Kim reveals her older brother got them beer! But Trish lies so that Mr. Contant just thinks it's soda pop.

"But they are only the teenagers," Starfire says.

"Yeah, these girls are all kinds of bad," Beast Boy says with a smirk.

"Makes me think of Supergirl and her group," Jinx says.

"You don't know they're like that," Raven says.

"We don't know they're not," Jinx says.

Kim ups the ante, though, as she brings out "Maui Wowie" in a little Ziploc bag. Trish tries to tell her no since Mr. Contant is here, but he doesn't make a fuss over it. He won't tell if Trish doesn't tell about the little jump scare. And if they need him, he's right next door. Mr. Contant leaves and we check in on Valerie making Kool-Aid for her and her younger sister. The sister asks why Valerie wasn't invited, but Valerie says she was. Just turned them down to take care of the sister. And then she makes sure to answer the phone first. The boy's calling for the sister.

"Hello? Hi, Gordon~!"

Cut back to Trish's party. They share the Wowie while eating chips. Kim and Jackie talk a little smack on Diane, wondering what boys see in her. Trish defends Diane is beautiful, it's just her liking John Miner that's confusing. Maybe it's something they haven't seen, wink wink.

But then a noise in the kitchen gets the girls all to go look. Just the glass coffee pot breaking from leaving it on the stove too long. And then Diane jump scares them!

Valerie and her sister read magazines, then the dog makes noise while getting in the garbage cans outside. Valerie wants her sister to check but her sister doesn't wanna go outside alone after dark. Valerie jokes that it's too bad their parents divorced before her sister was born, but does go check. The sister then sneaks upstairs for some reason while Valerie passes by their swingset. What the sister went upstairs for was to find Valerie's secret stay of Playgirl!

"Whoa~!" a few of you go.

"Valerie's naughty!" Argent says.

"What makes you say it was Valerie's copy?" Beast Boy asks.

"Because if her sister had to go looking, it wasn't her own," Argent says. "Wouldn't you know where you stashed something secret of yours?"

"Oh... That's a good point."

Valerie cleans up the mess the dog made, hears the dog barking at something else, but ignores it. But then something makes the swing move. Valerie walks over that way, gets rightfully creeped out, and steps backwards into the trash cans! That spooks Valerie a little more then hurries inside.

Jeff and Neil have arrived at Trish's house, and go around the outside. They peek through a window to watch the girls changing clothes!

*BEWZTTFFFF* The power goes out!

"Oh c'mon!" Beast Boy says. "It was just getting good again!"

"I thought the Tower's power wouldn't do that after... that time," Robin says.

"Well it's not my fault this time," Raven says.

"Are you sure?" Robin, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire all ask.

"My powers subconsciously create a super scary monster one time and you never let me forget about it," Raven says. "Trust me, this movie isn't scary, just raunchy and gory."

"The back-up generator should be kicking on by now," Cyborg says. "Something had to have happened."

"MaYbE iT's ThOrN~!" Argent says mockingly before laughing.

"Ha ha ha," Jinx says.

"Guess we can check to see if it's the whole tower or just the living room," Cyborg says.

"How about we watch a horror movie to cheer you up," you say as you lean over Raven.

You give her a kiss on the head and she chuckles.

"In that case," Raven says as she takes the remote.

Raven goes to the search function and types in "Slumber Party Massacre."

"Oh good, the original is on here," Raven says as she selects the 1982 film.

"Oh ha ha, I get it," Jinx says. "We're staying over so you're gonna make us watch a slasher about a slumber party with a stalker."

"This is a slumber party?" Raven says. "Not if the boys are around."

"And isn't this movie Rated R?" Robin asks.

"You gonna tell on us?" Raven smirks.

"N-No...!" Robin says nervously.

Raven selects the movie and it begins.

Early morning in suburban Venice, Los Angeles, California. A paperboy bikes through the neighborhood. The headline is pretty straightforward, a serial killer named Russ Thorn is on the loose. 18-year-old high school senior, Trish Deveraux, wakes up and dresses, full view of the window and there's nudity already.

"Wow, two minutes in," you say while sitting down right next to Raven.

"Awesome...!" Beast Boy says, eyes wide as he leans against the back of the couch.

Trish packs up some toys, those she's grown past. But she does hold on to her favorite plush sheep dog. Her mother calls, her and Mr. Deveraux are heading out. Trish heads downstairs just as the radio also reports of Thorn's release, and the horrible crime of five victims at once, all in Venice, LA.

Mr. & Mrs. Deveraux finish packing and Mrs. Deveraux makes sure she has everything she needs. Trish promises everything will be fine while they're away. Mrs. Deveraux knows, but still has their neighbor, Mr. Contant, keep an eye on things. And Mr. Contant promises the girls won't get up to any trouble. Trish is not happy about that, though. Mrs. Deveraux wants Trish to lock the doors and windows but Trish brushes it off like she's just being babied. Trish then throws away her old toys and heads to school. But someone takes her Barbie...

Cut to school, senior boys, Jeff and Neil, discuss what girls to ask out. Maybe hte new girl? Valerie seems a bit intimidating to Jeff. Jeff and Neil then peep on the lady electrician, and Neil does his best to flirt with her. Would she consider dating a younger man? She hasn't thought about it. Jeff stops Neil there and they move on. But then sadly, she's the first victim! Her van is so soundproofed no one hears her screaming for help! The killer uses the power drill!

"Oh no!" Starfire says as blood splatters against the walls, but nothing else is shown.

Cut again to a girls Phys. Ed. class. They're playing basketball, all in brightly colored short shorts. Trish's team is in all blue, up against the girls in white shirts and yellow shorts. Diane gets isolated, passes to Trish, and the boys are watching. The ball is passed around, but Jackie makes a bad shot. Blue team hussles, Valerie is on the yellow shorts team. She passes inside, that girl passes back out, then back to Valerie. Valerie makes a lay-up. Trish's team grumbles that Valerie's some kinda teacher's pet.

But on the blue team's possession, Diane solos to score! Teacher says this is the last week for baseketball, next week begins baseball. Hit the showers!

"Wow...!" Beast Boy says again as the girls in fact do shower.

The girls talk about sports, the strong and attractive men that play. Trish invites girls over to a sleepover. Jackie gets razzed on for messing up the play, and there's a staredown between Trish and Valerie. Trish compliments Valerie on her playing, then talks with the others about inviting Valerie. And no boys. Well, that part isn't as fun.

The discussion continues as the girls dress. Diane might just be jealous of Valerie's height, skills and looks, but Trish just calls her a snob. Well only the best people are. And of course Valerie can hear all of this. Trish still wants to invite her, but Valerie turns her down. And Trish puts it together, she overheard them.

Jeff and Neil talk with the girls, but Trish points out that the boys can't come over. They're all being watched by Thorn... The rest of the group goes on ahead as Linda has to double back for something she forgot. Trish says she secured "provisions" for the party, and the boys joke that's code for drugs.

Linda returns to the locker room, and the teacher warns her things are locking up for the day. The teacher passes by the van, Thorn's not in it...

"Linda no!" Starfire says. "Linda, you must the get out now!"

"Shh, Star, wait," Raven says.

But as Linda tries to find a door the janitors haven't locked up, she doubles back again, to the door with grafitti. It's also locked, and there's the killer! He stalks up behind her, armed with the power drill! Linda sees him in time, only gets hit in the arm, and the chase is on! She uses what she can to block his path, then she snakes through the locker room to hide in a closet. Thorn hunts through the aisles, passes by the closet, and goes to the showers.

Linda is hiding under a desk in the faculty room, but there's a window Thorn peers through. He doesn't see her, and goes to the shower stalls. Unfortunately, Linda is bleeding badly, so she needs to patch herself up. She grabs for a towel on the desk, brings it down without a sound, and Thorn moves on. But Linda's blood has dripped out under the door! The door is locked, but that doesn't matter to a power drill! Linda screams, but there's no one to hear her.

"Welp, two down," Raven says.

"Well, for being a slasher, this isn't quite as gory as expected," Jinx says.

Diane is walking home, someone is stalking her. She leans down to check her shoe, he reaches out, and she throws him down!

"John Miner," Diane says, "what do you think you're doing, scaring me to death like that?"

"I won't try it again, that's for sure," John says as she helps him up.

John asks about the slumber party, Diane says it's no boys allowed. For old time's sake, y'know. Well she can get out of it, right? Maybe. She promises to see him later and continues on.

The PE teacher arrives home, fiddles with her keys, but almost gets hit by a drill! It was her handywoman putting in a peep hole but that was a close one. The phone repairman stopped by, the van is down the street. Foreshadowing...

Trish talks with Diane on the phone. Obviousy Diane brings up John and Trish says her mom would be upset if John was in the house. But they'll worry about it later. Trish hears a noise, excuses herself from the phone call, and does in fact do what her mother told her in locking the door and windows. Trish then turns on some lamps and plays the piano. But the camera moves upstairs, because someone IS in the house! Trish goes to the door, struggles to unlock it, but it's Mr. Contant! He apologizes for scaring her. Trish apologizes for being scared, being alone was more unsettling than she realized.

Back to the teacher, now she's the one hearing strange noises. and she ends up spilling her glass of wine. She picks up the glass shards carefully, but then hears the strange noise again. She goes looking and the music is ominous. She held onto a piece of glass as a makeshift weapon.

"Oooh, smart move there," Argent says quickly and quietly.

The teacher hears something from behind a door. She opens it, and it's her cat! She apologizes to "Muffin" and cuddles with it.

This looks really good. Stop-motion has always been my favorite form of animation. Combine that with a slice-of-life plot about simply making Pokemon happy, and you've got a cheerful, cozy show

that does seem like a very fun show.

Also, the theme song is a brand new song by Mariya Takeuchi, who became famous after her song Plastic Love got blessed by the algorithm some 30+ years after it was written. It introduced a lot of people to the genre of city pop. Definitely give it a listen, as well as a well-loved English fan version:

that's wild! all the more reason to hope the show does well.

"I think I'll stay the night," you say. "My room still open?"

"Uh, yeah," Beast Boy says. "Oh, wait, I should make sure Silkie didn't eat the sheets. Or curtains. He's getting uppity and wanting to eat fabric like other moth caterpillars."

Beast Boy hurries out of the room while you and Cyborg continue with the dishes.

"Well, we should probably get going, too," Jinx says. "It may not be a different time zone back at HQ but it'll still be a long trip."

"Or," Argent says. "We could just stay the night, too."

"Whay?" Jinx asks. "Why?"

"Because there's no rush to get back," Argent says with a shrug. "Red Star, Kole and Gnarrk can handle things, right?"

"Are you talking chores or fighting crime?" Jinx asks.

"Now that I think about it, a bit of both," Argent says. "I know you don't look forward to laundry day any more than I do."

"Yeah..." Jinx says. "Well... Okay, it's not that late yet. We can hang out a little longer and then leave so we can still make it back before midnight."

"Yes!" Argent says with a little fist pump.

Argent smiles as she then floats over to the couch and flops down to relax. Jinx rolls her eyes but still joins Argent while Argent goes through the cable guide.

Raven returns to the room and heads for the couch.

"What're you two still doing here?" Raven asks as she sees Argent and Jinx.

"We're just spending a little more time here," Jinx says. "We'll head back a little later."

"Maybe," Argent adds.

"El Nio is back and with a vengeance!" a news commentator says.

"Huh?" Argent says as she exits the guide to watch the news.

"The strong rains are on their way tonight," the commentator says, "expected to hit the Bay Area with rain in the double digit inches. Get inside and off the roads while you can, we're in for a long night."

"Okay, see, we really should get going then," Jinx says as she gets up.

"I don't think flying in that will be all that safe," Robin says.

"I can already see the rain on its way," Starfire says as she floats by the window.

She gets up close on the glass and uses her hands to block out light.

"Yes, that is most certainly rain in the distance," she says. "It will surely be here before you leave what is considered the Area of the Bay."

"Guess we're staying the night after all," Argent says with a bit of a smile.

Now Jinx and Raven both roll their eyes.

"Well, night, Rorek," Raven says as she gives you a kiss on the cheek.

"Um, thank you," you say. "But I was planning on staying in, too. And that was before the rain warning."

Raven frowns.

"Sorry?" you say with a shrug.

Raven goes to the couch and sits with Argent and Jinx while they return to scanning the cable guide.

You have the oven preheat to 392 and grease a five-cup baking dish. You place dark chocolate and butter in a small saucepan and sit it over low heat. This will melt within the next three to four minutes, so you quickly crack eggs open to mix with sugar using an automated egg beater.

The buttery chocolate mix is taken away from heat and allowed to cool down completely while you combine flour and almond meal in a bowl. You fold the powdery mix into the egg mixture, then fold in the cooled chocolate mix. You pour all of this into the baking dish and tap it gently to level it all out.

The baking dish is then put on a tray, and you bake for up to 20 minutes. That is just long enough for the pudding to cool through while having a soft and wobbly spot in the middle. The tray is then put on a wire rack so it can cool for five minutes while everyone gets tall glasses of milk. You dust the pudding with cocoa, and serve it on top of vanilla ice cream in nice big bowls.

As everyone digs in, Raven, Jinx and Argent have almost identical reactions of very strong "Mmm~!" as they smile and even perk up a bit.

"Sho good~!" they all say, pudding still in their mouths.

"Really?" you ask. "You like it that much?"

"I lubbit," Argent says before swallowing and washing down with milk.

Jinx nods in agreement as she also swallows and chases with milk.

"Definitely serve this at the reception," Jinx says.

"That is a good idea," you say. "I'll keep it in mind."

As everyone finishes eating, dishes are put away and Cyborg washes them. The drying rack sets to work as items are placed on it, but most things still go into the dishwasher.

"Alright then," Arella says. "I'll be checking in for the night. Hope to see everyone in a few weeks."

"Good night, Miss Arella," you say.

"I'll help you with the trip back to Azarath," Raven says.

Raven and her mother head back into the hall.

"I should get going, too," Bumblebee says. "It's almost 11 on the East Coast and it's going to take me a bit to fly there with just the mini-jet."

"Later, Bumble," Cyborg says as she flies to the door.

"Yeah, I bet that would look great," Argent says.

"Hmm, yellow belt and yellow gloves," Bumblebee says. "Yeah, I think I can handle that."

Bumblebee smirks and the others chuckle.

"Wait, if your sisters are making the clothes, don't we need to meet with them?" Jinx asks.

"Well, you could," you say. "Or you could send your measurements along with my notes about the colors."

"I don't know if we want to leave those written somewhere people can read them," Raven says.

"I wouldn't read them," you say. "You all can write them out and I'll just mail the paper to my sisters."

"What would reading the numbers even do anyway?" Argent asks. "They're just numbers, not a picture."

"Okay, then say yours right now," Jinx says.

"32, 24, 34," Argent says without hesitation.

Everyone is speechless, with the girls giving Argent an incredulous look. You're pretty sure Beast Boy is blushing.

"Well, that's one down," you say as you write Argent's name and the numbers.

"And they're going to write the rest themselves," Raven says as she takes the paper and pen from you.

With the ladies adding their measurements and dinner almost done, you make dessert.

You draw all the way down the leg on both sides.

"Maybe not too tight, though," Bumblebee says. "We want to be able to walk comfortably."

"What happened to that dress Starfire wore for that whole Robin-takes-Kitten-to-the-prom thing?" Raven asks.

"It is still in my closet," Starfire says. "And yes, that would be a lovely example of the dresses we could wear."

"In that case, let's make sure to get that to my sisters, too," you say.

"Huh?" the lads say.

"Oh, yeah, his sisters are really good at making clothes," Argent says.

"And how do you know that?" Beast Boy asks.

Argent smirks and the other ladies have their own nervous blushes and smiles.

"How about shoes?" Raven asks, moving the conversation along. "I'm going to be wearing heels, are those okay with everyone?"

"We might need to practice that," Jinx says.

"What other accessories should we have?" Argent asks. "The belts will be nice, but what if we had gloves?"

"Is that because you wear gloves?" Bumblebee asks as she points out the sleeve gloves Argent's wearing.

"It could be different kinds of gloves," Argent shrugs.

"Gloves would look nice with the dresses," you say as you sketch those onto the picture.

"Starfire did wear long gloves with that dress," Robin says.

"We should go with the dark blue," you say. "Overall, it'll match with the others, as that shade of red and that shade of green are on the darker side."

You circle 0157AC and put the paper in your pocket.

"And what about us ladies?" Argent asks Raven. "If the fellas are in tuxes, are we gonna all be in the same kind of dress?"

"I don't know if there's a style of dress that'd work for all of us," Jinx says as she looks over at Starfire, and even at Argent and Bumblebee; then she frowns slightly.

"I'm sure we can figure out something," Bumblebee says. "Long flowing gowns that cover the shoulders but leave the back open. Mostly for me cuz of my wings."

"That doesn't sound too bad," Argent says. "They can even be our 'little black dresses' if we wanted."

"Just black and white?" Arella asks. "Are you sure that won't look too formal or too drab?"

"Monochrome is kinda the Null Family aesthetic," Raven says with a shrug.

"Yes, it is," you add.

"And we can always accent it with our colors," Bumblebee says. "A yellow belt for me, pink for Jinx, bright red for Argent and purple for Starfire."

"Now that would look nice," Argent says. "A belt and a dress, very throwback."

You take out your sketchpad and a pencil to start drawing.

"And who's that supposed to be?" Raven asks.

"It's just the average body type," you say as you finish the female silhouette. "Belt around the waist here, and shoulders but back open, it'd have to be one loop around the neck. Maybe make it part turtleneck, it'll still be rather chill in February, especially here on the island with the breeze coming off the water."

You sketch up the neck for a nice collar.

"For the flowing skirt..." you say as you start sketching down the legs.

Wedding party outfits.

"Obviously, tuxedos are a must, gentlemen," you say to the lads. "We can go classic black and white with different colored cummerbunds for each of us."

Beast Boy chuckles and says, "Cummerbunds."

"Yes, yes, it's a funny word," you say. "So obviously, we're going with red, blue and green for the three of you, but what shades should we be going for?"

"Hmm," they all say while thinking.

"I guess that depends on what shade this counts as," Robin says as he tugs at the shoulder of his own costume.

"Let's make sure we get some good lighting on that," you say. "We want to have the right shade in mind."

"Oh, yeah, lighting can play a trick on the eyes," Beast Boy says. "Remember that thing about the dress being white and gold or blue and black."

"We can always hexadecimal it," Cyborg says.

"Yes, that would be incredibly accurate," you say. "But again, good lighting would help."

"Don't worry, my cybernetic eye can account for that," Cyborg says. "Just hold still."

Cyborg looks at Robin's shirt and you see a flicker in the robotic eye.

"E-A-0-4-2-0," Cyborg says.

"Okay," you say as you write that down, putting Robin's name next to it.

"Really?" Robin says. "Would've thought this was at least up to F."

"For Beast Boy, we should try and match his hair," you say.

Cyborg looks over at Beast Boy.

"0-2-8-4-3-F," Cyborg says.

"Okay," you say again as you write that down and put "BB" next to it.

"And I already know my shades of blue are 5-A-8-D-C-2 for the lighter blue, and 0-1-5-7-A-C for the darker," Cyborg says.

"Hmm," you say while writing those down.

"Let's have the TV off this time," you say as you use the remote to turn it off.

"Aww..." the guys pout.

"Oh c'mon," Bumblebee says. "This is dinner. It's much better for us to sit and talk about stuff than to distract ourselves with television."

"Quite right," you say. "Let's talk and enjoy each other's company."

"Fine..." the guys grumble.

"Speaking of talking," Robin says towards you, "what did you go talk with Raven and Arella about?"

"Oh, just wedding things," you say. "Nothing important, really."

"Then why talk about it in private?" Robin asks.

"Because it was a private matter," you say with a shrug.

Raven and Arella return to the living room and are served a plate of potatoes and glasses of the Virgin Mango Mojito.

"Oh, this is pretty good for a pretend cocktail," Arella says.

"Thank you," you say.

Now with everyone at the table, you all eat up, and discuss...

"Let's have some Virgin Mango Mojitos," you say.

"Oooh~!" the group says as you look in the fridge.

You bring out oranges, mangos, and limes for the juicing, some seltzer water for the fizz, and some mint leaves as the garnish. Then you bring out some sugar from the pantry to help sweeten it all up.

Inside a pitcher, you crush some mint with a wooden spoon, add the sugar, then crush it all up some more. After that, you add the fruit juices and the seltzer water. Then all you need to do is mix it until it's all blended together, and serve. Then you garnish each glass with more mint and an orange slice.

"Delicious!" Jinx says.

"Yeah, it's so sweet and tangy from all that citrus," Argent says.

The oven finishes with the potatoes, and you take those out to then turn the temperature down and put in the cob loaf. Luckily, this only takes about ten minutes, perfect for how long the potatoes need to cool.

"I'll go let my mom know dinner's ready," Raven says.

Raven exits the room while everyone gets a plate and silverware.
