Japan kind of does it right. We have special days of the week where we throw out certain things. Monday is plastics only. Tuesday and friday are burnables. Wednesday is bottles. Once or twice a month we have a day for misc items, like vacuums etc.

If you tried this in the US, people would cry about their freedom to throw out their pants on thursday or something.

Just in the US, it seems.

Yeah BookOff is the place to go. You can find lots of stuff not common in the west there. Tons of PS2 games for like, 100-500 yen. Stuff that is rare in the US, like Bemani games, too.

Geo is another good game store. They carry more modern games (ps3 and up) but have good prices on used current gen games too.

The tourist streets in Japan do not represent the real Japan. Stay off of those stupid YT videos about weird japan and step outside the shopping districts of Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka.

Convenience stores dont openly have lorn on the shelves. They are covered in plastic or some covering. Yeah you might be seeing some bikini mags, the real porn aint open.

Donki doesnt put fleshlights in the open. They absolutely keep those behind the curtain. Donki has kids stuff for crying out loud.

Brothels are usually places where they prey on foreign women for cheap labor, for desperate, gross men. you arent getting a Japanese woman, especially if you are a foreigner.

This too. It's harder to take the pulse of the community when that community doesn't speak up as much.

The government is extremely disconnected from the public here. Its mostly a bunch of old men who have no idea what the world outside their bubble is. For example, the whole overwork thing, low pay, yet they keep raising prices on common goods every year, the utter failure at keeping Unification out of the government, treatment of women, treatment of foreigners, etc.

One thing is, most Japanese people dont worry about politics like Americans do. The younger people will eventually, but most people i know age 30-60 here are indifferent to everything. The government knows this and likes it this way. Very few people fight back when anything happens, for various reasons.

I think there are at least two other people on this board besides me who live or have lived there. So I will say that most people here are pretty liberal when it comes to human rights, and definitely lean left. The upcoming generation is definitely going to be left leaning, and the country already has a poor view of religion, partially thanks to the revelation that Abe was playing around with the Unification Church.

It is so easy to become overpowered in FF8. Once you find the Ultima drawpoint, it is over.

Also, people have this weird OCD thinking where they have to max out magic draws in battle. You can, but why? You already get more powerful. If you draw on e per every random battle, you will get there and not torture yourself.

FF8 is flawed, but the draw system and junction shstem arent the problem

Im serious. I lived in the US right when vaping became trendy, and everyone said it was safer and not addictive. I havent lived there in hears, so I dont know, because vaping here isnt really a thing.
