My dad's '96 F250 was my primary vehicle for a while in/soon after high school (probably '05-'07ish) but I didn't own it.

Couple of things here.

1. You're gonna be hard pressed to find a nation on Earth that HASN'T been formed on the borders or lands of others, had foreign interference, etc. This isn't something exclusive to the U.S.

The only places on Earth you'd find any place that wouldn't fit that bill would be certain islands out in the South Pacific.

2. People often forget that there were Native tribes that also fought each other in territorial disputes as well. Look up the Algonquins vs. the Iroquois.

For the record, they're specifically talking about the land containing Mount Rushmore, which the government granted to the Sioux as a permanent home by treaty, then broke said treaty a few years later. The Supreme Court even agreed that they'd broken the treaty, saying "A more ripe and rank case of dishonorable dealings will never, in all probability, be found in our history." This is a case of a tribe wanting back land that the government agreed should belong to them.

Words cannot adequately express how blown my mind is. This is honestly the most surprising thing I've learned all year....and I've been reading about physics for fun.

Until recently, New Jersey and Oregon had (or maybe still have? Pretty sure Oregon did away with it, at least) laws against pumping your own gas, so basically you had to let an attendant do it. And some places elsewhere still have the occasional "full service" gas stations where you might pay a little more but they'll do it for you along with other quick things like washing your windshield, checking your oil/fluid levels, maybe offering you a bottle of water.

It's like basketball is just a chance for him to have some fun with his friends for a couple hours. He just happens to be 7' and one of the smartest and most skilled players ever.

Southeast Alaska isn't exactly the place to drive luxury or performance cars around. I've worked for a Chevy/Chrysler dealer for over 10 years, the Corvette we currently have on order I'm pretty sure is the first that we've had in my time here, maybe a handful of Hellcats (a few Chargers/Challengers and a... Grand Cherokee?).

Can't go wrong with Jokic or Butler winning a ring this year.
Jokic is just incredible, Denver is is a lot of fun to watch and haven't really gotten much respect all year, plus it'd be the first for their franchise.

Yeah there's an argument there (Melo's longer career vs T-Mac's peak), but then you also have guys like Barkley, Nash, and Ewing ahead of Melo as well. I've always thought that Dominique Wilkins is a pretty good parallel for Melo, and that would still fit perfectly for this list.

I've worked at one for over 10 years now. Started as a lot attendant, went into sales for a while (kinda fun to learn but really wasn't for me), shifted into warranty claims until they decided to outsource that, now been doing accounting stuff for like 7 years.

Was always treated well and loved the owners, but they retired and sold a few months ago. Under the new ownership, I'm questioning if I want to stay here.

No, its goaltending if it HASNT touched the backboard or rim first. Goaltending is basically blocking a shot before you see if it was nothing but net. Youre not allowed to block those. The second it touches the backboard, it's basically a rebound.

No, like if a player is shooting a bank shot or using the backboard for a layup, you are not allowed to touch it after it hits the backboard unless it very clearly has no chance to go in. And if the ball is touching the top/inner part of the rim (fine if it's clearly falling outside of the rim) or is within the imaginary cylinder above the rim, you're not allowed to touch it there (though this IS allowed in FIBA, but not the NBA/NCAA).
