I had my IQ tested as a kid, at several different ages, and came away with the opinion that IQ is mostly bunk. Between being a 'gifted' child and having money, money is way more important. I was encouraged to skip grades, but my parents thought it would harm my development, so I didn't.

Also Mensa sucks. On occasion, I'll say something that makes someone else say, "You should be in Mensa.", and my response is always to apologize for coming off as someone who would be in Mensa.

how come no one would just buy houses and live off the rent.
Rent seeking is the epitome of 'money for nothing'.

While some people see that as a good thing, a growing segment of society is getting fed up with those who contribute nothing, and seek to leech off of others with eternal middle manning. They don't want to do it, and they don't want to be subject to it.

Investing is at least contributing to the economy, in theory.

Of course, the companies that need investment funds the least will get the most, particularly with the current idiotic short sighted 'stockholder returns are paramount' philosophy dominating everything nowadays.

It's a completely practical example. You sketch these things out before you buy materials since you want to know lengths, and you absolutely need some form of trig to make the angles and lengths match up. The exact lengths I used are pretty uncommon, but building pretty much literally anything other than "exactly a rectangle" requires this sort of thing.
