Is tap jump IDJ a lot easier than the shoulder button version? It's almost too easy, I do them in neutral when I want to do short hop up air lol. I'm thinking of training myself to use a shoulder button and c-stick to do short hop up airs and only press up when I want to IDJ --- (... Does the buffer system not work for Falcon on IDJ combos? I have never tried, but with Falco I just time the first jump when uptilt or upthrow is about to end, then hit jump+attack right after the attack ends to get them, no need for a second jump button or tap jump. The timing is really generous for Falco though, dont need to be frame perfect for the combo to work. So actually that's exactly what I've been doing, I have been using IDJ but mostly just with raptor boost or double tapping out of falling aerials. There are combos though that require you to position yourself under them after the combo starter, and performing a running IDJ with no buffer just isn't feasible. It's incredibly easy with stick jump by comparison since you can press and hold up while tapping your other jump button, no need to release for stick jump --- (... I really don't wanna use stick jump but it is just that much easier and that good. I should be used to it from Melee and I guess I kind of am but I still don't like it lol.
