It is a bit of a crazy idea and it might not work, but have a laundry basket which dries clothes or helps dry clothes. Make the bottom/sides out of a material which absorbs water better than cotton. Gravity takes effect, and absorbs water onto the basket. I read that those types of materials dont retain their strength after getting soaked, so naturally reinforce the basket with wicker/plastic. Perhaps you could have one with great ventilation, couple that with a pyramid within the center that keeps clothes from accumulating in the dead center. Hang that on a clothes line or in front of a window. It might take longer than average, but it would save energy, and would be as annoying as pinning each clothing article to the clothesline.
