yep here we go last day of round 1 and my absolute clear favorite in the contest is here!! eternal blaze is such a BANGER god nana mizuki has an absolutely gorgeous voice absolutely every song she sings is just sublime, and then you add Noriyasu Agematsu composition on it and just AUGH recipe for perfection. the visuals too are also great, gives a lot of the characters time to shine which i always appreciate a lot! traitor's requiem has one fatal flaw, and that's that a few of the shots in the beginning look too much as if they were just shots from an episode. the song itself is good but there's way way better songs in jojo, and later episode versions don't add enough to impact how i feel about the opening. so i'll be pretty disappointed in an eternal blaze loss but still i'm glad it's here!!!

yeah this match 1 is like semifinals tier at minimum lol, Flyers is amazing but uhhhh 0:51 at the claw roulette to 1:14 in 99.9 is maybe my favorite part of any anime opening ever both in song and animation. like the rest of the song is also breathtakingly amazing in both ways as well but GOD that total shonen styled action sequence is so fucking COOL i love it. a lot. so i will vote for it okay thank you

memories is... fine! theres something about these "images appearing over background of slightly moving water" endings that's just kind of annoying honestly lol. it's definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel of the contest here. Flip Flap Flip Flap has better animation but the song is pretty much on par with memories, so.... hard call, but I think i'm gonna have to go FFFF. shocking contrast in match quality here and i almost feel like the loser of match 1 got robbed not getting to feed on one of the songs in match 2 instead lol

oh did i say 8, okay make that 9 cause crossing field is just next level. this song probably has my favorite voice singing in the entire contest, there's just something about LiSA's voice that is just utterly captivating. there's very few vocalist that exist period that make me more excited to be listening to it (honestly off the top of my head i can literally think only of atsuko from angela, YURiCa/, and Noriko Mitose lol) it only really falls short on animation, which is still pretty good! paranoia agent's op is a classic but i don't know if it'd say i personally enjoy it enough to justify even thinking about voting it here. mad respect tho!!

first match is painful because infinite girl is actually great, but even if voting without the animation (which does hinder it here unfortunately) idol is still gonna eek it out just a bit :( this is one of the only times i think knowing japanese is a hinderance cause i still wanna watch wixoss at some point and im trying to tune out the monologue so i dont get spoiled LOL imagine if i could vote the NU-KO version of idol here how crazy would that be (the chance of that happening in the future is shockingly non-0%) anyway yeah banger match 1, honestly one of the best pairings in round 1

gun's & roses is a good song with an amazing mv to go with it.... but my musical bias is gonna kick in full swing here. wow war tonight BOPS and, while very minimalist, it absolutely maximizes what it gets out of what it actually does, and it's very very fun to watch somehow. so i absolutely have to give the credit to it here!

what can i say about only my railgun that hasnt been said before lol. absolute classic, although i gotta say i dont remember the animation being so.... lackluster sometimes. the great parts are GREAT but there's a lot more "huh this is kinda bleh" in here but probably i've always been so preoccupied jamming the FUCK out that i just never noticed! i would be mad that its opponent is myth & roid but this is pretty bottom of the myth & roid barrel tbh. which isn't bad, but it's not great, and you have to be stunning to hold a candle to railgun

I do like database, but MAN WITH A MISSION songs usually need a little extra oomf to really get me... which database doesn't really have lol. If this were Platinum here I could be talking about my favorite OP/ED in the entire contest!!! But it's not, (actually edit: i totally forgot eternal blaze made it so it wouldnt be anyway lmfao oops) so I guess I have to talk about CYCM instead grumble grumble it's great!! One of the things I'll always admire greatly about Cardcaptor in general is that it finds the literal perfect amount of "cutesy" to be, it's definitely there but turned up just enough to avoid being overbearing. And CYCM is one of the shining examples of how that's done to me. It just makes you feel good! :)
