And you don't believe that "this might be something cool we can add to BotW" can evolve into "this concept could be the basis for a whole new game" as the team worked on it? I don't doubt that the idea started as DLC, I just don't know why people are so obsessed with that fact when it means pretty much nothing about whether or not the game as a whole is robust enough to stand alone.

especially when deluxe editions of pc versions of the same games are cheaper than.comsole standard

Same. Just because a game is set in the same world doesn't make it DLC. God of War Ragnark for example uses quite a bit from God of War 2018 but also adds a lot of new things and that isn't DLC. It's a sequel and does what a sequel should do. Not all sequels have completely different worlds to explore.
