I wish I had better luck, but honestly I had to go through like 5 of them before I found one that at least seemed like they wanted to try. I've been in inpatient services 4 times but I relapsed again recently and am not sure what really will work for me Yeah I have a friend that just got out of one of those programs. The whole program lasted about a month and they're transitioning him back with more support than he had before, so hopefully it works out. I think it was his second time in unless I'm mistaken, but the first time around it was a shorter stint. I could see how it would get a bit like, exactly what will work if you've been in and out of those and they still haven't stuck. Therapy was beneficial for awhile on me plus upping my meds but alcohol is the main culprit that spawned from my childhood and teen trauma unfortunately That's unfortunate but understandable on the alcohol. Do you abstain from drinking these days? I had stopped drinking for 2 years and some change, but started again recently (in moderation) because I found that on my current med I wasn't up and down while drinking, instead I'd just get a buzz and maybe get tired after a while. It also isn't one of those meds where you can't drink at all on it. Planning on moving again soon but this time I'll have a network already and won't be starting from scratch. I had some trouble with my mental health a few years ago and now I'm on a med that works well for my condition. Also went through like a year of therapy, but things are better now than they've been in a long time all things considered. I'd say I'm content about half of the time. I have this nagging feeling that I should relocate to Colorado and start a life there (again) though, possibly staying for the long haul. I had a friend tell me that they considered leaving Colorado for California a big mistake and that they were happy to be back. It was kind of weird though. Some of the young women wanted to date me and some wanted me to be their dad, with a couple where it seemed to be some godawful mix, which is icky to me. Well, you get divorced at 40 from someone you had been with for over 20 years, and then see what stage of life you are at. Ive worked with some younger adults in the last few years and it really just depends. If theyre more towards the 18-21 range I see things far more endearingly. Above that, theres a little more relatability but I kinda just shake my head at most things they say/do. yeah i often found myself feeling like i was in a position to lecture and i would hold back outside of work. i'm not sure if that's because they're venting problems to me because i'm older and might know, or if it's like they see me as a peer, probably not lmao. there's definitely some cringe moments with them, not all bad though. --- http://www.last.fm/user/walkingishonest |

No idea how well I'd get along with them, and I'm not going to seek them out to find out. same, i used to work in a place where there was plenty of them though. sometimes they'd invite me to do things. i guess it was alright. bsp77 posted... After my divorce at age 40, I befriended a bunch of single people, men and women, and they ranged in age from 21 to 45. Most were like 23 to 35. Lot of windows were broken and those locations started covering them with wooden panels. The east side is still nice place to live but the light rail expansion from Seattle to Bellevue area will ruin it. yeah i visited there once during my time in washington and got approached by multiple meth heads rambling. on the way in i saw some people shooting up from the bus window. also google directed me to walk through an entire section of like 3 blocks that were fenced off as a homeless shelter, which i don't have anything against or anything i just didn't expect that. --- http://www.last.fm/user/walkingishonest |
