My family was unkind to me. They used to treat me as a dumb animal incapable of anything resembling a coherent thought. They used to force me to eat poop in order to reinforce their beliefs. They would always shut their ears whenever I spoke, because they didn't want to hear anything other than unintelligible mumblings. If I cried, they would think me liable to hit them. Whenever I watched violent television, they would restrain me for the same reason. They used to take away my books, because they did not want to see me reading and dispelling the illusion that I was illiterate. I wasn't allowed to watch porn, because they were afraid I'd repeat what I'd see and rape one of them. Whenever I acted "out-of-character" according to them, they'd assume I was possessed by a ghost. Then they'd repeatedly try to give me head trauma when their attempts to consort an exorcist didn't work. They wanted to reset me to a level of intelligence they believed fit me. I had to play dumb because they wouldn't stop otherwise. They are under the impression that I never graduated high school. They burned my transcripts and diploma in order to somehow prove themselves right. Over the course of my college career, I had to deal with them constantly bugging me about not being a high school dropout. I also had to deal with them bugging me while I studied, because they still thought that I was an illiterate imbecile. It wasn't very fun being around them.
