I didnt vote for it in the poll, but Ill vouch for The Fruit of Grisaia (I assume thats what you meant to write in the poll). The common route is fantastic, and while, in my opinion, a couple character routes are noticeably less good than the others, theyre all really good.

I still need to play the other games in the series, so I cant speak to them, but Ive heard really good things about the remaining games as well.

Man, match 2 is tough. The Scions Dance in Purgatory is pretty cool, but Ive grown pretty fond of Blue Desert Hotel over time. I forget where I saw the name of this song the first time. I think it might have been KCF? Anyway, I really liked it when I first listened to it! Its a really nice and calming song and has some cool chord movements like at 0:44.

Match 1 is super close and a lot tougher than I thought it would be. In fact, I didnt even think Id be voting for An Underlying Problem going into this match. My favorite version of Sweep is by far Part 3 followed by Part 1. If it was either of those parts, I wouldve voted for it. Really love that 6-note motif in An Underlying Problem, but the song as a whole is very cool.

MATCH 1

I really liked To the Heart when it showed up in VGMC. Still a really cool song! Final Answer, though, is probably one of my favorite dai songs in Umineko. Episode 5 had a really strong showing for dai songs in general, I think, though Im a bit biased because its also one of my favorite episodes music-wise.

MATCH 2

Leucine is also really cool! I definitely should check out more 13 Sentinels music. Evidently, based on this song and many others by him, I should prioritize listening to all the Yoshimi Kudo songs lol. Agh, Cheer Up, Pure Queen is really cool too, this is tough. I really like piano arpeggios, so thats one big positive about that song. I think in the end, its the stronger song here, but its sort of close.

MATCH 3

I really enjoy the vibe of At Your Funeral. It sounds like a song recorded in the early 2000s in someones bedroom. It may not be clear from how much I push extremely anime songs in these VGM contests, but I also really like indie rock/post-punk sounding songs, and this song definitely appeals to that side of my taste. Despite what I said at the beginning, though, I feel like I would like this song more if it had better vocals and higher production quality.

I like what Absolute Evils going for with the spooky baroque melodies, but it goes too hard into the rhythm game beats for me. I think this match would be really close without that stuff.

Edit: Just read Maxs post about the original At Your Funeral. Now thats more like it!

Before I really started getting into the whole VGM scene and discovering a bunch of new music, Little Busters OP was my favorite visual novel OP. Nowadays, thats changed, but its still an incredible OP! Love the bright guitar and vocal melodies, and the chorus is a great, powerful climax to the song. Especially at 1:09 with the koe o age line.

Wow, Fight, then Riot is very cool! Especially after the 1 minute mark. Really love all the instruments harmonizing with one another. Its something I frequently comment on positively whenever I run into a song like this.

Similarly, Airport Elevator Pitch has some really cool parts where theres a lot of harmonizing instruments.

Both match 1 games had some rough draws for the songs. I like them both overall, but theyre my least favorite songs in their respective set.

I (sun) is a nice, soft song, but I dont think its the best example of a song like that from the soundtrack. Blue Reflection (song) would be my song of choice for this kind of style, and Id take it here in a heartbeat.

Lord of a Dead Empire is also alright, but there isnt a lot about it that really gets me into the song. Id say the most interesting part of the song is actually that brief chord change at 1:10 with the choir. Pretty close match.

I absolutely love Small Two of Pieces! Such a great, heartfelt song.

MATCH 1

Both songs are pretty solid and carry similar feelings for me. It was a pretty close match at first while listening, but the part after the key change towards the end of Western GunRun sealed the deal for me. Really cool part and definitely stood out above the rest of the song and above Rogues Gallery.

MATCH 2

Flowing Time is a blend thats chill in some parts and dramatic at others. Its a decent song, though theres something about it that makes it stop at decent despite having elements of stuff I like such as pianos and violins.

Forest del Chivo isnt all that remarkable for me. Dont really have anything to say about it.

MATCH 3

Ive grown on Seto Kaiba a lot since first hearing it in VGMC. Really cool and interesting song!

Mantra - For Foliage Act 3 is pretty cool too. I really like the bright melody it has. Somewhat close match. That delay lama sounding thing at parts like 0:16 is throwing me off though lol.

After some feedback to limit the amount of zts songs and to replace liberatedliberator, I'm going along with that and removing it, dropping the number of zts songs to 3. Personally, liberatedliberator is my least favorite zts song in the original list anyway, so I have no problem replacing it. Decided to bump Golden Nocturne up to the main list and put 7-weights as the alt. I don't think 7-weights would've done well in BOST5, but I think after some of the songs that did well in VGMC16, it has a better chance in BOST6? So it might be a decent pick for the alt. Of course, if anyone thinks it should be replaced or wants additional alts, I'm fine with that.

Yes, I did just include every Caligula 2-origin Regret Version vocal song in the game. If you think certain songs should be in the main list over others, let me know. Back with a vengeance. Given the success of the zts songs in BOST5 for the Questions Arc list, I have included even more zts songs this time. This means that composer variety will be much more diminished though, so I apologize in advance to anyone who really wanted composer variety. dai, xaki, and Luck Ganriki get representation in this list as well, however, so hopefully that makes up for that a bit.

I'm open to lots of suggestions for other songs, so if you have any, feel free to let me know! I should mention that I likely won't be very active in the nomination phase. If you do have suggestions for this and the next game I'm about to post, I prefer you let me know on Discord.
