Just left GOTG (was lucky to be travelling to a country also getting days earlier), like Quantumania was a more serious affair but given the other two movies already dealt with some big threats and emotionally charged issues it at least felt natural. Same fun setpieces and inspired soundtrack cues, and this time they really want you to cry for that psychotic raccoon. The High Evolutionary was intimidating and despicable, but the plot cuts so much away from him that the character didn't have the same impact as Ego in the second one. Even if the final card only said "Star Lord will return", would like to see the Guardians line-up by the end of the movie again (specially because Adam Warlock seems like a character with more potential after being introduced as simply a superstrong idiot).

Saw it yesterday, it sure is a huge contrast going from two straight-up action comedies to a microscopic epic. There are certainly funny moments, but the thing is fairly serious - and yes, there is a lot of Kang set-up - while being akin to Guardians or Thor in presenting a strange new world (which my mom even noted as being a sharp contrast to how the Quantum Realm appeared in the other Ant-Man movies, which Janet even notes as "it changes as you go deeper").Still found it found it fun, Kang is a great villain, I like Kathryn Newton more with every new movie of hers I see, and it's amusing how they found a way for the ants to be employed.

In the meantime, am confused by how none of the Disney+ shows have release dates yet. Specially when the post-credits is a Loki scene.

The only ones of the billion club I've never seen are the Fast & Furious ones. And went for the second most voted in this poll, The Lion King 2019. Found it unnecessary from announcement - unlike Jungle Book, which at least has a human, TLK would just trade 2D animation for photorealistic one. And indeed, it the original movie but worse. (and sadly, the good one is not a billion dollar movie, that's just a BOM mistake: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Film/Film_finance_task_force#Box_Office_Mojo)

And for the question on Pirates 4 making all that money: before China, but during the 3D craze (see also: Alice). And just so I can give my Star Wars take (no need to revive the discussions): TLJ and TROS served to bring me back to my original conclusion of "the story was good enough with 6 movies", taking down all the hopes TFA gave me.

Also very low on She-Hulk, haven't seen it yet, but people seem to generally like it fine enough?
She-Hulk was fun, even if between the first four episodes and the final two there's kind of a lull. Maybe Moon Knight was better (but it surely beats Ms. Marvel), but it is worth it aside from those who get offended that Marvel decided to mock the worst parts of the fandom.

And regarding No Way Home, I also had my issues, mostly that just about everything happens because Peter Parker is an idiot (my biggest problem with the previous two, of excessive comic relief, was downplayed - even if lame jokes like laughing at Doc Ock's name still appeared - for impactful emotional moments which, again, entered the movie because Spider-Man might be sort of a genius but makes really stupid decisions).

Caught an early screening of Black Panther. Well-made, delivers emotion, funny lines and a few good action scenes, but not as engaging as the first, the main character is sorely missed, specially as to compensate for his absence - which is of course a major theme - it seems like the script spreads around to too many characters and subplots (including Everett Ross who turns out to be the ex-husband of Countess Valentina, now head of the CIA), leading to that excessive runtime and an "see how everyone ended up" ending straight out of Lord of the Rings. Can't see those who complained about Doctor Strange and Thor finding it that much better.

Well, they certainly delivered on She-Hulk this week, best episode since they stopped doing mid-credits scenes. Certainly had the build-up for a finale that Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel lacked. Hope they can deliver in the finale (if only because I'm feeling old next Thursday, and there is also a much less promising closure in Halloween Ends).
