My LinkedIn has been getting tons of messages from recruiters lately. Amazon seems to have stopped messaging me when they did their layoffs. Might have dodged a bullet. Based on the rumors I hear about Amazon, I'm never sure if they're trying to find a developer for the long term or if they're trying to find a sacrificial lamb to protect their long term developers (with them having to fire so many people each year)

Because most of your hydration needs are met with water content in food, and recent scientific findings found you really only need to drink when you are physically thirsty.

This. It's nearly impossible for me to drink 8+ cups of water per day. Once I saw a study dating it's really closer to 4 - 22 cups per day I started doing a lot better.

ThyIlls posted...
I used to do this. Sometimes I would go multiple days without drinking water. Then I stopped drinking the city's toilet water and started only drinking bottled pure spring water. Enormous difference. The water's delicious and I drink 34-68 fluid ounces a day.

Careful with bottled spring water. It often goes through another city's municipal water system before it's bottled. They can say it's spring water because that city gets their water from a spring

Life tip/trick/hack: eat bananas when they're green before they ripen. You'll get all the benefits none of the detriments
Does that even work? I thought once a fruit was picked it got all of the sugar it would ever get. At least that's how it works with tomatoes. One that was picked while when it has just a little bit of it's final color will be just as sweet as a fully vine ripened tomato. But a tomato that was picked green and then allowed to ripen will not be as sweet nor will it contain as much sugar

yes! i love house and that would be awesome

how i would better the show:
have it be solely about a more adult Velma and a new (crime solving) dog, maybe a little pomeranian or something to differentiate more from scoob. she can have new friends too as supporting characters, and have scooby and the gang show up as cameos sometimes and show briefly their lives. there shouldn't be anything to the graphic level of decapitation or anything like that and the humor and crimes should not be too juvenile either, mysteries with house levels of intelligence but no gore or anything like that since i dont think that stuff fits this series in the slightest. give the show an interesting overarching mystery that she is trying to solve or something. there can be mini mysteries inbetween... maybe have her try to balance her career with her mystery solving? like she wants to move on but people know who she is because of her reputation as a crime solver and keep dragging her back to investigations and just like dr house she is very competent but very tired

i dunno that was my best shot, not good at this
Would an adult scrappy work as the new dog? This time doing something like seeking revenge on the one who killed his uncle?

People have an odd sense of survivorship bias. It was fine when I was a kid and I don't have any long-term effects that I can say is from gas stoves! Also smoking is fine because I smoked 4 packs a day since I was 8! Wish the asbestos cigarette filters were still a thing but the government took those away from me!

GreenCookie posted...
I dont like this because Id probably blow a fuse each time I cooked dinner if I was forced to use electric. Yes, the gas stoves already take some electricity, but not a whole lot.

Have you tried induction? I used to swear by gas stoves after using a cheap electric one my old apartment provided. I switched to induction at my current house and it is by far the best I've used and uses a fraction of the energy that an electric stove uses. Even better that the surface of the stove barely gets hot and animals can't really turn on the burners. They just shut off once they detect there's no pan

Apparently induction stoves are the really good ones

Induction is wonderful. I switched to it after having both gas and electric ovens. The electric one was far worse than the gas oven but the induction oven is definitely better and faster than the gas oven.

That being said, gas ovens aren't really the true money maker for gas companies. They're a way to get a foot in the door. Once a person has a gas oven they're more likely to get a gas dryer, gas water heater, and gas furnace
