I could see them giving us Jags/Chiefs on TNF I guess. But that's generously assuming they remember the Jags made the playoffs last year and won a game.

I think Mermaids is a good one. Others probably know a lot of other charities though. But it's one Rowling specifically hates (or maybe it was Linehan. Or both) that specifically helps trans kids.

I'm sure that Wired review will make this boycott a lot more successful. Good job guys! We've done it. We can all relax now. What's that? They're passing another law in South Dakota to deny gender affirming care for minors? Kinda weird how that isn't getting more attention than Hogwarts Legacy. I'm sure everyone will say "We can care about more than one thing at once!" and that's true. But it sure seems to me like one is getting a LOT more attention than the other, and it's not the one that's about to become a law and will 100% directly hurt trans kids. Wish as much effort was put into that as into Hogwarts Legacy. Oh and South Dakota isn't the only state doing it. Utah already passed such a bill. Texas, Iowa, North Dakota, Kansas, and several other states are proposing similar laws. in some they probably won't go anywhere, but they're still being proposed.

This isn't to call anyone specific out btw. It's just a general trend I've noticed on how people would rather fight culture wars than protest actual legislation. And I wish people would start putting at least equal effort into both.

They've already backtracked on that due to backlash.

Yep. It's targeting individuals, not institutions. There's a difference that some people don't get.

For me, it's just hard for me to say "I'm not going to play this game," when Rowling won't even care or notice. For her, this is supplementary income on top of all the money she's getting from the shit ton of everything else Harry Potter related. I'll buy it used, because I still don't want my money going to her.

On the other hand, I did cancel my netflix subscription after their comments on Dave Chapelle's anti-trans act as being 'smart' and 'thoughtful'. Because netflix very much cares about subscriptions being cancelled. And it's something they'll definitely notice. I even commented that I was cancelling due to their stance on the subject. I can only hope they actually read it.

If I thought it would change people's minds or policy, I wouldn't play it at all. I just don't think it would. And I know maybe cancelling Netflix didn't either, but I felt like that had a much greater chance for success or at least sent a message to the company that there are people who don't like their stance.

You know what doesn't help the trans community? Harassing and shaming people, and spoiling the game for others. Maybe it makes you feel better, but it doesn't change anyone's mind. I see a lot of that on twitter. And it drives people into the arms of anti-trans people who will have their undivided attention.

I think it's worth discussing the problematic parts of Harry Potter. Even fans discuss it. And if you don't want to buy the game, that's a fantastic personal choice. You can even ask other people not to buy the game or other harry potter merchandise. But I see too many people going further than that. It feels just as spite-based as the people who say they're buying 3 copies.

And no, none of that is worse than what the trans community faces. But since when did a lesser wrong right a greater wrong?

Well, I'm done with the NFL. We're never going to be good. We're doomed to suck forever. And just for Salt in the wound, the Refs are fucking awful as always. Like... we're losing this game fine on our own. Chargers don't need your help, Zebras.

Also, Urban Meyer officially the worst coach of all time. I don't think we'll do much in the playoffs, but it feels good to be there. After so many years of suffering Gene Smith, Gabbert, Bortles, Caldwell, Sprinkles, Mike Mularkey, Urban Fucking Meyer. Really hope this is our start of prolonged success.

On the upside for the Titans, you guys probably get rid of Downing now, right?

Also, can't wait for Calvin Ridley to play for us. Trevor Lawrence, though!

We won't make the playoffs but it's pretty satisfying to see us beat the Titans. And I have hope for the future with Trevor Lawrence. Especially if Calvin Ridley gets to return, and he returns to form. Just need to build our defense up a bit. And I could see us making the playoffs next year maybe.
