No. Because if I did and my wife found out, I'd be in some serious shit.

Same goes for both genders.

But wow, the truth in this post is undeniably spot on.

Well done masher, well done.

Depends
My mortgage is like 2%. I can do way better than that putting my money just about anywhere else.

Mathematically you are 100% correct. But I'll sleep better at night when my 2.75% mortgage is paid in full; which will be done when I stop the grind. I just can't pull myself to sell when the market is down 20% to come up with what I need to finish paying it off. Math and emotion don't always move in the same direction. To each their own.

Yes. I'm well positioned to retire in 5.5 years, when I turn 50, should I choose to do so.

and yet look how at quiet conservatives are about this

I'm not quiet about this. It is disgusting indeed and this person is obviously very sick. Just because I often lean conservative, it doesn't mean I condone this awful behavior.

But other things I believe also as a conservative:
  • "A woman's body is her own fucking business" - as quoted directly from Jay in Dogma.
  • I also believe racism still very much exists - and it unfortunately comes/goes to/from every direction.
  • And I also believe conservatives have jacked up Christianity very much. Nowhere in the New Testament (and I've read it many times) did Jesus ever promote hate - he was the most forgiving and inclusive person in the entire Bible.
  • And I believe guns have gotten out of control.

And yet despite all that, I still lean conservative. We're not all bad; but many of us certainly are. I consider myself socially moderate but fiscally conservative. I don't believe the government can fix all these issues... people need to own it and grass roots the efforts like the counter culture environment in the 60s.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm looking forward to technology and pricing to continue improving. I know they already have roof shingles with panels built in but I'm waiting until they get get the longevity of it and the pricing better.

Glad you're happy with yours and hope you continue to be. Cheers!

Never too old to wear one. And wear it whenever/wherever you want. Lame is caring what other people think about the clothes you want to wear.

I don't think this is very fair. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of shit realtors out there, but there are good ones too. And those ones realize being good and choosey at their job will net them a lot more referrals and make more business than railroading someone through the process.

But that does make choosing your realtor more important. Talk to friends who used realtors. Research the them online. Set up meetings and talk to several. Ask them about there cancelation policy.

My realtor came highly recommended from several friends. He had a cancel anytime for any reason policy. He rocked. I recommended him and two of my other friends used him to buy their houses.

Regarding the inspector - To each their own and we can agree to disagree. An inspection is far too important for me to leave in the hands of a commissioned salesperson who wants nothing more than my deal to close. There's an obvious conflict of interest here.

Regarding getting a recommended realtor - totally agree. Word of mouth is strong. But even in this instance, research your own inspector. Maybe you do use theirs. You can trust... but you need to verify on your own.

Get a home inspection. Find your own inspector. Remember that your realtor is someone who wants to sell you and move on. They are not your buddy. Why would they recommend an inspector they know are tough? They want that sale to close, not for things to be found out and send the deal south thus forcing them to work with you further.

Unless the person actually is a friend first then you might be in luck.

Best of luck!
