Here's a crazy idea: What if instead of bitching about Velma on here and on social media, we don't discuss the show at all, and thus people don't check out the show to see how bad it is themselves, giving it more views? If enough people do this, viewership will go down, and the show will be cancelled.

The snow wasn't the problem. The low temperatures caused pipelines to freeze, which drastically lowered the capacity for Texas' grid to supply power to the state. The low temperatures also caused increased demand because people needed to heat their homes, so they had to shut down the grid to avoid a catastrophic failure that would have lasted a month or more.

Why would Texas be in trouble? It's not supposed to be NEARLY as bad as it was in 2021.

I hear that this might test Texas's grid, but I'm not THAT worried. I looked at the weather in my area and compared it to the temperatures in February 2021, and it doesn't look ANYWHERE NEAR as bad. It's supposed to have highs in the high 30s-low 40s for 2 days, get to highs in the high 40s, then go back to highs in the 50s the day after Christmas. Compare that to February 2021, when there were 8 consecutive days of below-freezing highs.

Do you remember EXACTLY where you were when you saw/heard about it happening?

I just realized how formulaic the Harry Potter books are, at least the ones I've read (1, 2 and 3).
Harry has to put up with the Dursleys, he goes to Hogwarts, he gets in trouble, he sneaks out of the school to solve a mystery, the mystery gets solved, he gets rewarded, and he goes back to live with the Dursleys.

People need to live and enjoy their lives and should be allowed and encouraged to go out and do what they please. But there's a difference between doing that and TC saying "LGBT people need to go out and protest in huge numbers"

Why should LGBT people be obligated to do this and put themselves in danger? Maybe other people who aren't being targetted should be protecting the vulnerable among us rather than expecting them to protect themselves?

So LGBTQ people should just roll over and continue to be treated the way they are? There comes a point where you HAVE to take a stand, or things won't get better.
