The two eras of internet I remember most, having only gotten a computer in 1993 are the late 90s to early 00s AIM/napster scene(not that they are both similar, but those two programs basically define that era for me), and the aformentioned 2004 to 2006 era, and if I had to pick, it would be the 2004 to 2006 era.

I wasn't going to actually do it but I was curious, either wildly inaccurate speculation or actual medical advice.

I love self checkout, though it is rare I am ever buying a full cart of stuff. But, I used to oversee the self checkouts at a previous job so I know how to use them efficiently. I mainly just don't want to have to talk to a cashier.

The thing is, I am generally well liked by the vast majority of people, so when I do have haters, its definitely their problem and not really mine. This hasn't happened recently but I have had haters here on GameFAQs in the past, and some people would go way out of their way to insult you or whatever to the point it was cringe and i actually felt bad for them to some small degree.

No. I like watching Mr. Beast videos sometimes but I kinda figured I really do not need to try a fast food chain created overnight by a youtube star.

I know of two 2% back everywhere cards: the Wells fargo active cash, which I also own to use on purchases that only get 1% and don't fall into a defined category, and the Citi double cash(or whatever) that gets you 1% when you buy, and 1% when you pay. I do not own that one.

I would have thought so, too, but the bonuses all stack. The breakdown is listed on my grocery purchases and indeed it says 9% on my rewards account summary

Aperol is an Italian liquor that is bitter and citrusy in taste(or so I am told, I have actually never had it). People love Aperol, but it doesn't sell well everywhere. In fact, while my store has 88 bottles, which is the second most in the entire state of Pennsylvania, we don't generally sell too much of it.

I am continually getting in Aperol because last summer, while working at a different store, the warehouse ran out and it was like 2 weeks before they could restock, and I saw people go crazy for Aperol...I was working in a store in one of the richest areas of the state, so I saw first hand how this ravaged the local community.

So, that rich store is located 5 minutes down the road. Inbetween that store and mine is probably the richest area in the entire state. I work in kind of a poor area, and past me down the road is actual poorsville. My thinking is if the warehouse runs out of Aperol again, fuck you, you have to come down to my little cubicle. And who knows what else these rich people are going to want to buy? This could be the money making scheme of the century! Another 3 cases on Friday bringing me up to 15. I can bring in as much as I have space in my back room or until somebody higher up asks me WTF I am doing and cuts me off. Knowing I need a way out if my plan fails and the warehouse never runs out of Aperol again, one of our licensees is a country club that buys a little Aperol, so eventually it will get sold.

This, folks, is business acumen!

My thoughts are that she isn't the AH, because she was invited by the Ex, and the bride needs to get over it(I understand this is her wedding day, but I don't really care). That board is kinda weird. A LOT of posts are ones where OP clearly isn't the asshole and you're wondering why do you even need to ask. Then you have posts where I understand where OP is coming from but the comments act like they are the devil, then you get posts where somebody was like "My cousin made fun of me once so I told the entire family at thanksgiving they are having an affair AITA???" with everybody calling them not the AH and not even thinking the reaction is a little much.

It's kind of a wild board and I kinda like it because there is so much going on sometimes. Though I haven't really noticed what OP here is talking about but I will keep an eye out for it.

People keep talking about all these athletes just collapsing and I finally saw somebody post an actual list. It has like 7 names on it and I googled 3 and they were all soccer players.

It isn't an everyday occurrence but it isn't weird for soccer players to collapse on the pitch. It's happened before the pandemic and vaccines were even a thing, and one player, Christian Erikson was not even vaccinated when he collapsed in 2021.

The best is the custom songs, because there are thousands upon thousands of them. This completely changed the game for me, because I wasn't really ever going to buy extra songs, and half the songs in any given title suck ass. In fact, if you like Rock Band a lot, I'd say tracking down the correct version of the game(360 RB3, but the correct release) and a 360 with the correct updates(idk, i never took my 'Box online so all i know is it never got any updates which is good) would actually be a worthwhile investment.

I have before, yeah, but the lifetime total hasn't been more than a few hundred dollars since I started watching when I was like 14/15. If you could quantify the dollar value of all of the free porn(illegally) I've gotten in my lifetime, what I have actually spent is...pennies, in comparison.

Becoming GM of a liquor store. I was an assistant manager before, and I explained I was taking this GM position with no pay increase, and people here said I was being used. Working at my current store, a hole in the wall, I have less work to do than being an assistant at the much busier, more important store I was at before. My mental health has improved significantly. I have less to worry about. I don't have to worry about people(Other than district manager) telling me what to do when often times its a half dozen/6 situation...all kinds of things. It's been great.

I don't actually care about the profits of a multi million/billion dollar company, but I just think stealing in general is scummy, be it a mom and pop store or a wal-mart. I can understand if people are stealing necessities because they are broke/homeless/whatever, but that actually requires a deep look in to why people are so depressed they resort to comitting crimes just to survive. That shouldn't even be an idea in somebodies head in a first world country, because social services took adequate care of them. Social services generally does not take adequate care of people, though. So that is kind of a topic for another day.

People justify it in all sorts of ways, like "guhh I am not getting paid to do this so i am entitled to stuff for free" or even the machine giving an error message as justification for stealing. I'm sorry, I just can't get behind the idea of it being okay.

This probably goes back to my time occasionally overseeing checkouts at wal-mart...people would steal right in front of you knowing it's very tough to actually get management on your side to do anything, and as a cashier you have zero power to stop them, just about(Though me personally, I wouldn't try to stop them outside of keeping and eye out and giving them good customer service so they feel it's too risky to steal).

I dunno, kinda rambling here, but I am not on the side of mega corporations but I am also not on the side of people stealing either because "fuck the corporations". At the core of it, I won't shed tears because somebody stole something from a wal-mart, but also at the same time I think the justifications for it are pathetic, outside of "person has no money and it's a necessity needed to survive".

I own an Omega already but it's a pocket watch from the 20s and I have no idea if it's related to the actual Omega brand we know and love today.

For Christmas somebody bought me something I really didn't think I wanted: The OmegaxSwatch Mission to the Sun moonwatch.

The "moon watch" is nickname of the Omega Speedmaster Professional, which was worn on Gemini 4 and Apollo 11, and was the first watch on the moon.

Swatch paired up with Omega to create a quartz knockoff, named the "Moonswatch" and now I own one.

Let me tell you this thing is sweet. Also, it has a Velcro band, which I never thought I'd like, and I could stare at the strap where it says "Speedmaster" as much the front where it tells time.

So here is something to consider.

I've been using gamefaqs since the early 00s, but I took a break at one point and I came back to a different forum(potd, because something i would browse gamefaqs with a restricted account, and those types of accounts can browse gamefaqs), and I never got called a troll because I had my own unique posting style and just kind blended in. I also didn't get involved in board drama, which as a veteran of the site I do not care for.

It is possible to have new people just come in, but legitimate new people don't get banned in a week or less. I'm going on 6 years!

A lot of new users who come here aren't actually new, it's just somebody who already posts here coming in undercover being "hey i'm new here and i plan ongetting sucked up into all the drama this board has to offer from day 1"

I WISH we actually got a lot of new users to the site. It would kinda freshen things up a bit.
