Seriously though Please do point out popular anime and movies that fit the bill. There's a good chance you can recommend stuff that I don't know about. Believe me, it's 100% more helpful then just saying "eh you probably know about em all anyways."

Here's an example of the type of stuff that I'm looking for. Or at least it would be if there were more magic spells being slung. Either way, I highly recommend it to people that love dark fantasy!

So you're left with books. I haven't read as much as I used to, but I can recommend a book called The Black Prism by Brent Weeks where magic was the focus and it had a rather interesting magic system.

The Dungeon of Black Company similar concept to Konosuba, it's a parody/satire on isekais but brought down to a critique on salarymen lifestyle.

You know what? I'd like to know if this exists:

A game with a pretty small open world like the Yakuza games that nails story focused side content like Yakuza...that isn't made or published by sega or whatever the lead dev of most of the yakuza games name is. Yeah, I know about FOTNS, but what else is out there? Bonus points if it's a game developed outside of an asian country.

Yakuza is a hugely popular, why has no one else been inspired by them? It'd be like if there were no games inspired by Skyrim, the 3d Fallouts, or The Witcher 3.

Hell, there's like half a dozen good games inspired by both Fallout 1 and 2, and half a dozen good games inspired by Baldur's Gate 2, but no game dev was heavily inspired by Yakuza? What gives?

You want some of that, one of my favorites is absolutely Konosuba. It's a fantasy isekai parody. Absolutely hilarious.

I've seen it. I don't usually like comedies about garbage human main characters.

A game that is turn based, build armies, multiple locations like space, moon, and earth.

Last game is SD Gundam G-next for the SNES.

They have other Gundam turn based strategy games but its all just tactical. No building units or anything like that.

Carlos Mencia made a bunch of really disgusting racial stereotypes to make their mostly white audience laugh, and passed it off as humor. He also stole a bunch of other comedians jokes and never credited them. I'm very glad that the hack faded into obscurity.

A good friend of mine pointed out that I really thrive on stories with really intense magic battles in really well paced stories with very likable adult characters who I wanna see survive.

Oh, like anime.

mhm, and manga, and other tv shows and movies, and fantasy novels. And hell, a bunch of stuff that I don't really care about, but they know how to make it interesting to talk about.

From what I've seen, the younger gamers a billion times less judgemental, and are more likely to see non-cishet men, and women in general as actual people, so I'm gonna say yes as long as you don't try to group them all in.

Also, nickel for every 20 something girl I've come across on twitch that started off with Fortnite and moved onto something like Skyrim, The Witcher 3, and 2077. And again, they're usually really nice to people who are nice to them. I'll take them over most of the men I come across that mostly wanna hang out with other men.

They're also more likely to be interested in things besides games too, which I especially appreciate.

Anyways, my Fave Asian RPG would be THE PS2 Shadowheart

2 of my other faves are Final Fantasy Tactics PS1 and the SNES Chrono Trigger.

Let's play a game. I'll start by mentioning 3 story focused western games that I find great, and someone else mentions 3 story focused asian games they find great, and then someone else names 3 more story focused asian games, and we continue on.

Trying to make this a positive topic, so please don't go after someone for liking something. Don't jack their hap.

I'm not gonna try to gatekeep what isn't story focused, but please, be realistic.

My fave game would be Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. Some of my other faves would be Baldur's Gate 2: EE, and The Witcher 3.

It is quite clearly a total ripoff but I can't help being curious enough to buy it

Most people that have left a review liked it, and there's several reviews that say that it does stuff to differentiate itself from OOT. Maybe don't judge something entirely based off of screenshots.
