Iirc when the machines are 'broke' they're being cleaned. Employees are told to say it's broke because it sounds better than to say they're cleaning it.

How does that benefit the corporation? It more or less benefits everyone, minus someone that wants ice cream in that exact moment.
93% if McDonald's are franchises. Here's a breakdown of McDonald's revenue and expenses:
https://i.redd.it/fnhwcjp5juh31.jpg
Part of the McDonald's licensing agreement is to use a specific brand of ice cream machine which has a specific maintenance contract. Franchises that have used a third party company to fix the ice cream machines, which actually do break, have been threatened to lose their warranty on it. There is an ongoing lawsuit:

Shampoo is legitimately bad for the oils in your hair, but it's complicated.
Soap can be rough on your skin, but there's options if that's an issue for you. You should always use soap to remove dirt.

I've been wondering about that for a few years now. When a gen is left behind by the main scene (aka, when a new gen is released), what competitive scene is there still?

Like, what tournaments are happening with a gen 4, for instance?
https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/ smogon-premier-league-xiv-player-signups-auction-jan-8-2-00pm-gmt-5.3713004/
https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/smogon-classic-viii.3703503/
https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/view-tournaments-all

There's Smogon Premiere League, which is a drafted league where the managers build a team of players to play in each gen's OU.
Smogon Classic where each player competes in gens 1-5 (6-8 are played in a separate tournament) and you seek to be the best of all 5 classic gens.
Then there's various, usually rotating, "unofficial" tournaments that are generally advertised on the front page of Pokemon Showdown. Pokemon Showdown also has a rotation of "spotlight" formats to draw interest, so you can actually find a battle.

Right-wing calls trans people "pedos" - ok and not alienating.
Left-wing calls the above people "dangerous fascists" - oh no, why can't we have civility?!

Andrew Tate calls women property - sorry, I didn't hear that.
Normal person calls Andrew Tate an incel - you can't insult men like that! That's why so many boys are getting red pilled!

It's an obvious and obnoxious double-standard. If you can't handle bad actors getting called out as such, you're already part of the problem.
You're not going to get someone who thinks all trans people should be euthanized to hop the fence, not without a LOT of work. But calling out transphobia, homophobia, and misogyny seems to be forming a solid base amongst younger people. There's a reason millennials are shifting left as they age, contrary to older trends: https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/financial-times-millennials-conservatives-age-b2253902.html
If calling someone out because he's a complete human shitbag, like Andrew Tate, is a problem for you - that's your problem.

These are the legendary Pokemon according to the extended pokedex released in 1996:
https://lavacutcontent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/5152.png
https://lavacutcontent.com/1996-creatures-pokedex-translation-7/

Yes, that includes the Dragonite line as legendaries. At the time, legendary just meant pokemon you wouldn't regularly see in the wild and had legends surrounding them.

pokedude900 posted...
Guys, the anime creators may get insider info so they can tease upcoming pokemon, but they're not going to use an unfinalized design for a pokemon that never got implemented. I've never seen anyone suggest that the dog on the mural isn't Arcanine before. It's pretty damn obvious that that's what it is.

As a side note, we actually know roughly what order the gen 1 pokemon were created in. Or at least when they were programmed into the game. Just look at the index numbers.

https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_index_number_(Generation_I)#

You will note that Arcanine was an early addition while Growlithe and the birds came a bit later (also those gen 2 pokemon on the list don't mean they were intended to be in the game. see the Trivia section at the bottom).
Something fun to check is the movepools of early pokemon versus later ones and the orders of evolutions.
  • Nidoking and Kangaskhan have such massive movepools partially because they were coded in before pokemon types were really solidified. Later pokemon often just have Normal + their stab moves.
  • Slowbro comes in before the Shellder line. The pokemon on his tail wasn't meant to be Shellder, but another pokemon (actually shown in the Spaceworld demo).
  • Lickitung was also one of the first pokemon. It has awful stats, comparable to Butterfree; probably because it was either meant to be an early boss, like Onix, or meant to evolve. You can even see Lickilicky in the Spaceworld demo.

A lot of people have talked about the generational divide in TV. Millennials and older generations had to watch the movies and shows that were available when they were available. This created a collective sense of pop culture stretching as far back as TV would replay or reference.

Zoomers and younger don't rely on TV and instead access most of their entertainment at will. They don't rewatch episodes of The Simpsons hundreds of times because they don't have to. So they're generally less aware of past pop culture.
Though, they're probably more connected to a wide variety of generations of music because musical trends on TikTok shift so rapidly. Jimmy Urine mentioned that MSI is definitely more popular now than it was 20 years ago.

All of Sbux tips goes to the baristas. Managers don't get tips, even if they're working the floor.

Sbux also pays min $15/hr, more depending on the area. Baristas aren't making waiter wages (but you're not taking home $200 a day in tips).
They also get free ASU online, about $75-100/wk in health insurance savings (still way less than Obamacare, but what can you do), 100% 401k match up to 5%, and generally $1000/yr in stock gifts.

If you don't tip at Starbucks, you're not hurting Howard Shultz, you're directly hurting the baristas behind the bar. And, ya know what? It's not expected! Tip them for good work and good service. Tip them if you come in with a 40 drink order for your office or hospital. Tip them if you ask for 30 customizations that take triple the work.
But if you're just ordering an $8 frappucino, there's no expectation. Tip or don't, it's ok. Just don't complain that you have to click a button at the register.

The number one complaint about CC tipping? Customers who complain about it! Tip or don't tip, that's your prerogative, just click a button and move on with your life. You don't have to tip at Starbucks and most costumers do not, $1 here and there is appreciated and usually adds up to $1-2/hr (and a lot more with CC tipping).

I've never been to a Korean restaurant, but I knew what was popular from shows and manhwa. I ordered the tteokbokki and chicken bulgogi. My wife ordered the bibimbap.

The tteokbokki was delicious! Just the right amount of spice, nice thick noodles, amazing sauce, and vegetables that complimented the noodles perfectly.
The bulgogi was ok. Good for a chicken dish, but nothing special. Had a nice zest to it.
The bibimbap was interesting. I liked the crunchy rice bits, but my SO was all over it and cleaned the whole bowl.

The noona was super charismatic. She had one of those personalities that could make small talk with everyone without you feeling uncomfortable. She talked about her visits to China and Korea and asked us where else we like to eat in town.

Definitely want to go back again.

I hate mayo, but it's obviously a popular condiment for a reason. You probably shouldn't slather a sandwich with it, though...
Same for ketchup. Ketchup comes in different varieties and most ketchups are too sweet, but the right ketchup can really balance certain dishes.

IMO, lettuce. It's supposed to add a nice crispy fresh taste to your meal, but usually fails to even do that. I like lettuce, but it fucking sucks as a general condiment. It's almost always there just because it's expected to be there; not because it makes the dish better.

I feel like Cata and MoP would both be appreciated more if they were released today.

People complained that Cata heroics were too hard on release. Now... >_>
There was a "lack of content" compared to today, but not really compared to previous expacs. I really liked the "log on, raid, log off" schedule, but you could also farm mounts, old gear, pets, etc. The light amount of "forced" activity really left room for players to play the game. I felt far more productive in Cata than any other expac. The Firelands sidezone was pretty packed full of achievements that should have lasted at least as long as the tier. Dragon Soul was a bit disappointing as a raid and as content, but you got transmog! Not the best expac, but Firelands was awesome.

MoP was SOOOO good. People shit on the theme, but the story was partially a successful version of what Shadowlands was attempting - a mostly self-contained adventurer with ties to the bigger picture. Class design peaked in MoP, almost every class felt broken and fun. There was SOOOOO much to do and far less of it was "forced" than whiners imagine. Pet battles, the farm, cloud serpents, stuff to explore in every zone, dungeon challenges, Brawler's Guild, etc, etc. Even before Timeless Isle, if you just spent time doing stuff on Pandaria you were probably being rewarded for it AND there was thousands of hours of stuff to farm outside of Pandaria. IMO, this was the max amount of content that should ever be in one expac.

Thanks a lot! I think the problem I had in another lab was that it was traffic between two routers that I had to route. Never tried to just ping between subnets on the same router in IPv6 and it freaked me out; it seemed "too easy.:

In between my last post and this I set up VLAN's and they seem to work.

I'm given 2001: ABCD: DCBA:6660::/60 by my ISP. I want to split it up into 4 subnets. I have 1 router connected to 4 switches and so on.
Can I do
2001: ABCD: DCBA:6660::/64
2001: ABCD: DCBA:6661::/64
2001: ABCD: DCBA:6662::/64
2001: ABCD: DCBA:6663::/64

I went to my router, enabled unicast-routing, then set int f0/0 to ipv6 addr 2001:ABCD:DCBA:6660::1/64
int f0/1 to next subnet, and so on...

My PC's all get correct IPs, but they can ping each other. That IS what I want, but feel like they shouldn't be able to ping each other.
IPv6 has my head spinning and I don't really know why. This should be easy :( Do I need to set link-local addresses? (I never really got that.)

Tag.

Used to play some gachas with my SO, but FFRK died and we quit. Not a good habit, anyway.

My bad, she has four arms. I somehow always remember her as having four titties instead.

Does she have a father? It's odd to me that she wears clothes at all considering her mother is buck naked in a hair bikini.
