I want to see at least 1 of the 2 Metallica shows when they roll around to Montreal in August.

The 2002 movie was mind-blowing at the time. It was incomprehensible to see a hero swing around a city and look believable. The movies are very soap operatic and they feel unique still.

Movie stunk and the internet nerds talked it up like it was the 2nd coming. Always be wary of a movie with a low critic score and a high fan score.

In 2016, the universe got rejigged again. I think it's more of a retooling than a reboot. But things feel more traditional ie. more like the post-Crisis universe. That era was called Rebirth and it began when the remaining old New 52 series all terminated at issue 52, and the one shot issue DC Universe Rebirth came out. That one issue was basically a mini Flashpoint event that set the current universe into motion.

And now in the last year or 2, it might have got rejigged again with Death Metal and Dark Crisis. I don't follow as closely as I used to.

I've read that era of New Teen Titans and I could swear she's about 13 to 15 in that era. It's been a year or 2 but that's what my gut says.

The Judas Contract happened in the New Teen Titans series in the early 80's. That was part of the main universe at the time. Even though that ain't the main universe anymore, you can consider the hallmark events for each character to have happened (ie. Bane breaking Batman).

I'm more put off by wondering how the hell these kids are in peril every 2 f***ing minutes than I am by JK's news headlines.

I've always liked Casino better and it might be my favorite movie of all time. The story and setting are more interesting to me. We've seen many NYC rags to riches to rags gangster stories. The whole high level Las Vegas casino skimming plot is a bit different. I think Joe Pesci was even better as Nicky than Tommy and I like the whole dynamic between he, Ace, and Ginger. Sharon Stone also did a phenomenal job as such a despicable character. Goodfellas is still wonderful and one of the GOATs, but I think Scorsese did even better with Casino.

Seems to be a more popular sentiment nowadays. It's almost underrated. I still say the good parts of ROTJ are so good that they vastly outweigh any negatives the movie has. I still find the Endor space battle and Luke vs. Vader to be epic even after all these years later.

And shout out to James Woods as well. That movie (and Goodfellas) are so funny that you can put them up against anything.

And I agree on Vader / Luke / Endor space battle. Those things are top tier. The rest of the movie varies from MID as f*** to near shambolic.

I have very rose-tinted glasses about Burton Batman, but just because you like them the most doesn't mean they're the best. People who act like they're alone on a pedestal need to lighten up a little.

Return of the Jedi is much more MID than you remember.

False, but it seems that way because most have probably seen Goodfellas so much more that it makes Casino feel more fresh. Still amazing though.

The latest Halloween movie was solid and the backlash comes from rubes who wanted more of the same.

I always found Kill Bill Vol. 2 considerably better than 1.

I think with age, the 2nd one really hits harder. As a kid it was easier to get into the 1st one for sure.

The whole hair cut thing is cringy in hindsight and a pretty overrated controversy all around. And video evidence shows that Jason Newsted cut his hair like 2 YEARS before the rest of the band. He was a bad motherf***er.

Make no mistake, they don't have a lot of output after 2000, but they're incredible live.

Seen him 3 times in Ottawa 2014 at a theater, 2015 at Bluesfest in Ottawa outdoors on a big stage, and last summer at the Bell Centre in Montreal. That last one was an ARENA show and part of Just For Laughs Festival. He's phenomenal live. Your face muscles will be aching from the laughs lmao.
