I didn't want to but my Grandparents visited specifically to attend my graduation so I had no choice but to go. My date ended up being some girl I didn't know, her friend was someone else's date so she wanted to go too and I agreed. We barely spoke to each other all evening and I don't even remember her name anymore.

Anyway, the entire thing sucked and I wish I never went.

The abomination of desolation. Where Depression replaces the 5 senses.

The capital "city" (actually a massive trailer park)of the Northwest Territories located on the shore of Great Slave Lake. where if they'd find the inclination a pack of arctic wolves could take over in about 15 minutes...

The "mall" is the most pathetic thing you ever saw in your life and if you're there in winter prepare to try to overcome overwhelming urges to commit suicide which most people soothe with booze, the vampire movie 30 days of night was probably inspired by a hour in Yellowknife. During summer months you'll find yourself awake most of the time due to the fact its never dark, alcohol will also come in handy during this season to put most people to bed.

vagrant drunks are a common sight and last i checked the legal drinking age was 16, so there are plenty of drunk kids too. The only thing yellowknife has going for it is the girls, who are like muskox in heat which probably means everybody that has come through town has had a piece of it already.

You might find yourself running for your life every now and then from wild animals including grizzly bears, moose, packs of hungry sled dogs and swarms of mosquitoes in their billions.

Oh yeah minorities get beaten up on a regular basis.

Well at least it got the mall right.

Where will you go in Europe?

I went to Budapest, Hungary and the plan was to go through Romania and Bulgaria and stop in Istanbul, Turkey. I became ill on day 4 in Sighisoara, Romania, tested positive, and was unable to continue. I want to do that same journey and complete it.

I can relate to this. Five months ago a good friend of mine survived a knife attack that put her in the hospital but her mother and younger sister, just 15, were both killed.

She lives in a different part of the country so I am unable to visit her. I have only heard from her a few times by text and they are weeks apart from each other. I have written and mailed her a couple letters to her full of love and support.

Getting news as devastating as this is never easy and it will take a long, long time for a full recovery. There are no magic words that will heal the emotional pain, just time and talking about it to people who will listen. I have reconnected with a few friends over my experience and I highly suggest you reach out as well to get out your emotions.

During covid lockdown I dreamt I got a call to return to the office the next day. When I did I found everything that was not attached to the floor or wall was disassembled and put any in boxes along the far wall. And I mean everything: desks, chairs, computers, promotional material, office supplies, etc. There was also a note for me saying to reassemble the office exactly as it looked before, set up the network and have everything put away that we didn't need. And also to get it all done as soon as possible.

I was still pissed when I woke up.
