Topic | Chained Echoes needs more exposure. Its prob one of the best JRPGs Ive played. |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 8:42:54 PM #23 | Kamil posted... ..... It isn't bad. The pacing is good and the game feels pretty smooth. There are some nice things like the red dots to tell whom you have talked to and little green arrows to show what doors work, but there are also a lot of very un-intuitive things like the enemy health bars that are center-aligned and places that are hard to tell where you can walk. The character development system is ok but pales in comparison to something like Octopath. All-in-all it is a nice game; much better than other AAA titles that have come out. I just don't see anything that would lead me to re-play it yet. |
Topic | Chained Echoes needs more exposure. Its prob one of the best JRPGs Ive played. |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 7:38:07 PM #20 | Kamil posted... Final Fantasy VI actually though it does a lot of its own things. It does pull inspiration from many classic rpgs, there isn't a combat system really like it out there that I can think of. The combat system is pretty much the same as Rise of the Third Power. |
Topic | Do you still listen to terrestrial AM or FM radio, in your area? |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 7:21:18 PM #23 | All the time in the car. I'd guess 1-2 hours 5 days a week. |
Topic | What is the primary reason that you don't own all of the consoles for every gen? |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 7:14:34 PM #17 | There has never really been a reason to own Playstation or Xbox consoles since I have always had a gaming-level PC. NIntendo always has exclusive games, though, so that + PC has allowed me to play any game I've wanted to for the last 20+ years. |
Topic | Chained Echoes needs more exposure. Its prob one of the best JRPGs Ive played. |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 7:10:11 PM #16 | Not enough character-building and no grinding makes it meh for me so far. I'm just getting through the 'tutorial' phase, though. |
Topic | Is it true younger zoomers and children don't know how to use computers? |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 12:12:39 PM #13 | TaylorHeinicke posted... what confuses me though is, why? Kids only use smartphones/tablets and apps, not computers. |
Topic | Starcraft/RTS players, can you help me understand something? |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 12:04:13 PM #22 | First of all, Starcraft is all about timing. You need to be able to use they keyboard & mouse in tandem. There is no way around that. Build up a small exploration army ASAP. Upgrades affect all units on the map instantly, so there is no reason to wait to move your army. Make your base a shortcut (Shift + F2-F4) so you can quickly go back and upgrade as you get resources. |
Topic | Do you think more highly of hideo kojima or james cameron? |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 12:00:13 PM #27 | I don't particularly care for either, but I've at least been interested in some of James Cameron's work. Nothing I would put within a top 50 or so, but I've seen some of his movies. |
Topic | What's the saddest movie you've seen |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 10:34:37 AM #99 | I don't know, probably something like Old 'Yeller. |
Topic | I'll name 3 great story focused western game, you name 3 asian games |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 10:27:32 AM #6 | I don't play games for the story; it is secondary to the gameplay. I usually skip all cutscenes, so I don't really have any examples I could give. |
Topic | What is meant by "00s humor?" |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 7:08:29 AM #23 | I'm guessing it means 'better humor than today'. |
Topic | Cannot wait for Disney to wake up and put Mara Jade back in Star Wars |
bo_danvers 12/22/22 7:04:17 AM #12 | Hawkgirl, Starfire, Batwoman, April O'Neal, Bow, Josie, Mary Jane, Ariel, Little Orphan Annie, etc. It's a standard trope at this point in time. Red hair = person of color in new movie. |
Topic | Remember when peak Internet humor was saying ''joo'' instead of "you"? |

Topic | is like high 90s in most classes common for computer science |
bo_danvers 12/21/22 1:50:04 PM #4 | The grades really don't matter. When you get your diploma, the same guy who got all C grades gets the same diploma. No one ever looks at or asks for your grades. Networking and learning on the job or getting a part-time job in the field while you finish school are WAY more important. |
Topic | Guys in their 30s who stan Wednesday Addams now are cringe |
bo_danvers 12/21/22 1:48:21 PM #56 | This entire headline is sus. |
Topic | Everything Everywhere All At Once was not that good. |
bo_danvers 12/21/22 1:46:29 PM #33 | I didn't care for it. I understand why some people do, but it wasn't some amazing movie that everyone made it out to be. |
Topic | How I Met Your Mother hasn't aged well |
bo_danvers 12/21/22 1:44:58 PM #17 | It has aged fine. No issues with it. |
Topic | Is it okay for a school to allow bullying, but punishes victims who fight back? |
bo_danvers 12/21/22 1:44:25 PM #3 | Always fight back. The school may punish you, but if you fight back you are less likely to be targeted in the future. It's a long play. |
Topic | Is The Last of Us the greatest story ever told in video games |
bo_danvers 12/21/22 12:25:12 PM #35 | doubt.gif |
Topic | If you haven't played at least 3 of you these 10 games, are you truly a gamer? |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 8:09:43 PM #33 | Tom_Joad posted... These games are too new. This is a much better list. |
Topic | so, you guys playing any good games lately? just wondering, ok? |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 8:07:24 PM #21 | FF pixel remasters. With the OG names mod, NES rebalance mod, Classic monster formations mod and Font mod, FF1 is awesome. |
Topic | 90's Pizza Hut dine in was so good |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 3:59:22 PM #14 | ArchNemo posted... Pizza hut is the same, we just got older and have had better things first. Not true. In the Midwest they still have some sit-down pizza huts. I went into one about 2-3 years ago and the pan pizza was exactly as I remembered it. I came home and tried our local pizza hut takeout after-words and it was absolute garbage. |
Topic | What was the single best show or movie of the year |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 2:37:20 PM #39 | I can't think of anything for this year. The only memorable Movie or Show was the last season of Better Call Saul. |
Topic | Were you a fan of the Bill & Ted movies? |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 2:35:47 PM #15 | 3 was pretty terrible. 1 and 2 are still excellent. |
Topic | Is it xenophobic to point out bigotry in other cultures? |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 2:26:43 PM #5 | That is literally the definition. "having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries." |
Topic | Emergency fund |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 11:10:54 AM #4 | About 1 year salary or so. |

bo_danvers 12/20/22 6:28:27 AM #23 | BlackOmnimon posted... Do you think this would make the sport super popular in the USA. No. |
Topic | The most expensive piece of tech that you own in your home? (No smartphones) |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 6:21:20 AM #7 | Probably my CNC machine. |
Topic | 10 years ago, what game were you playing the most? |
bo_danvers 12/20/22 6:20:24 AM #5 | Hard to say. Not many great games out at that time, so I'm guessing something from the NES/SNES era unless it was Plants vs Zombies, MInecraft, or MLB Power Pros. |
Topic | Some people think zoomers are the new boomers. Do you agree? |
bo_danvers 12/19/22 7:53:01 PM #41 | NoxObscuras posted... Lmao no. My dad is a boomer and he's hopeless when it comes to tech. Zoomers can at least learn. Zoomers are a generation of people who can't tech. They grew up with IPads & Android phones and most of them don't know how to operate a computer. If there isn't an app for it, they can't do the task. |
Topic | Would it be stupid of me to ask this board how to find new hobbies? |
bo_danvers 12/19/22 7:17:41 AM #17 | Find (3) hobbies. (1) is hopefully your job. (2) should be the opposite of what you do for a living. For example, if you sit at a desk all day, find a hobby that is physical (like walking, jogging, swimming, etc.) If you spend all day doing construction work, consider something relaxing (like reading, video games, etc.) (3) should be something creative. Art work, music, writing, painting, baking, etc. |
Topic | Girl I Dated, Ghosts Me For SIX MONTHS & Replies TODAY! Should I Respond?! |
bo_danvers 12/18/22 10:21:02 AM #37 | The best thing to do is the long play; wait 6 months to text back. |
Topic | The US needs train soccer players. |
bo_danvers 12/18/22 7:43:01 AM #24 | No one in the USA cares about soccer. |
Topic | The FF pixel remaster collection is 75 bucks? |
bo_danvers 12/18/22 7:40:48 AM #37 | Still a better value than 99.9% of modern games. |
Topic | The Vikings are getting btfo'd by a 4-win team |
bo_danvers 12/17/22 4:25:26 PM #11 | Biggest choke job ever no matter the outcome. |
Topic | Movie tickets reduced to $5, but movies get six 2-3 minute AD interruptions. |
bo_danvers 12/16/22 3:12:23 PM #16 | I only pay $4 for tickets right now, so sounds like a total loss. |
Topic | How's tactics ogre reborn for the Switch? |
bo_danvers 12/16/22 3:10:02 PM #23 | Questionmarktarius posted... Something about anti-grinding turned me off of it. This. Levels are capped so all the fun was sucked out of the game. It isn't an overall level cap, but each section of the story is capped. For example, you can't go past level 8 or so in the first chapter. |

Topic | Do you qualify to date dis social media influencer? |
bo_danvers 12/15/22 12:33:57 PM #22 | I would never date a social media influencer, so they don't qualify as a datable person. |

Topic | Does anyone realize the majority of popular Christmas songs come from the 1950s? |
bo_danvers 12/15/22 9:01:35 AM #5 | MagicalPrincess posted... They're timeless for a reason. This. I'd much rather listen to the 50's crooners than, for example, Mariah Carey. |
