Alvarado had been getting bullied in the playoffs and melted down in a similar situation in game 5 and you bring him in against their best hitter. Just baffling. He completely mismanaged this series. Between being too stubborn to fix the lineup to doing whatever the fuck this dumb decision was, he blew it. Even if they tie it against Wheeler with a fly ball or something, he was still dealing.

I'd say "I don't know if the Phillies can recover from a momentum killer like getting no-hit" but the Astros blowing a 5-run lead at home in game 1 was also a similarly powerful (and similarly unlikely) momentum killer and they somehow recovered from that. So I really don't know what to think about this.

Most shocking thing about this series is that the Phillies bullpen has allowed zero runs. They only have 2 and a half good pitchers in the bullpen, everyone else is mediocre to bad.

I still get really anxious about shelling their starters. If their starters can't go long then they have like 10 bullpen arms who are just as good if not better. Just hope the Phillies home mojo is enough to overcome that.

I'm really interested in seeing if they don't move game 5 up a few hours because they would literally be competing directly with the Eagles and Texans on Thursday. What a weird day for both cities.

Not sure who this helps the most. But for the Phillies, they can skip the Thor start and go with Suarez game 3. If they win game 3 they can go for the killshot at home with Nola and Wheeler in 4&5 and have Ranger available for a potential game 7 start instead of a bullpen game.
