Seafood that isn't fish is trash. Lobster is a giant sea bug and people only eat it when covered in copious amounts of garlic butter. Shrimp is a rubbery little bug. clams, mussels and oysters are sea snot.

Spinal Tap is something that I really want to enjoy, and by all available metrics I should, but it's not quite there. It's not bad, but I didn't have a strong love for it.

Modern Times was a treat. Chaplin is a master of physical comedy. The story still resonates with..... gasp...modern times! Sometimes older stuff can miss for me but not when it comes to Chaplin.

The Senate passed the bill unanimously which is super rare. I care about this because I'm in fucking Canada. We'll have to switch whenever the States does so I'm hoping for more daylight in the hours that matter (no one should give a fuck about the morning. Just don't run over kids).

Boo, Spaceballs is great. Your Schwartz is not as big as mine. Dark Helmet is comedy gold. Rick Moranis does steal the show and I just love the standard Mel Brooks sight gags like combing the desert. "We ain't found SHIT!"

Even the parodies of films I hadn't seen when I first watched NATM are hilarious. The stealing of the black cheerleaders' routine being so blatant is hilarious. "Nice comeback, Priscilla, yeah!"

Janey's got a gun, nice cameos, Mia Kirshner being a sexy freak, Reggie Ray's concussion counter (oh man, H. Jon Benjamin is in this?) It all gels well into a solid parody film.

Anchorman is good for some things but very silly and didn't hold up as well as some other pieces around same format.

Harpo's schtick gets old really fast. Groucho is sharp-witted but oh God, why the music?

The Interview is not as bad as I was expecting but it's still mild chuckle here and there without much else. Randall Park as Kim though was fun.

Beverly Hills Cop has Chris Rock (old joke; Disney gauntlet people know) who can get grating a bit but here he's cool. I was waiting for the parody part because it seems like the typical cop movie with a bit of humor thrown in. Not a bad flick overall.

As for The Freshman, started off interesting. Plucky Broderick gets roped into some illicit activity but it just gets silly and too long focused on taming a komodo dragon with not much laugh out loud moments. Another wasted potential that surrounded an entire pitch meeting based on "what if Brando just did his Godfather schtick but for laughs?"

All I can say about Mystery Men....wish it were invisible.

Who's on first is great and I enjoy A&C duo, but this just didn't produce many laughs when it's just Costello not being believed for a huge chunk of the film.

Guess I'll have to do some snap write-ups for the time being (argh, this week so booked) but yeah. A disappointing film considering a solid cast of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and John Candy. Wanted to like it based on that but it fell flat.
