its definitely a better term than Aspergers, but a lot of the community dont care for that particular label as it boils autism down to a scale of high/low functioning when the reality is more complex though.

Personally, it doesnt bother me that much, I prefer it to Aspergers simply because it doesnt carry the connection to nazism, but also because it can quickly and briefly explain that 99 times out of 100 hundred I can manage myself.

bottom line, the guy that first recognized Aspergers, Hans Asperger was a nazi.

For him and the Nazi party, the diagnosis was anyone with it was high functioning enough that they could be taught to blend into society instead of simply putting them down.

In the last decade or so, its been folded under the autism umbrella.

The autistic community doesnt care for the label, as being labeled as acceptable to an actual nazi isnt something that people like me generally care for.
