My point is appeals to tradition shouldnt be on the arsenal of the formerly oppressed. Like literately the dictionary disagrees. All logic is meaningless about anything. Like what if I reported someone for being sexist and he said "women were always in the kitchen"? While he has a happy marriage with 3 daughters?

You can be frustrated that your boss used an appeal to tradition as justification all you want, but emergency exits are designated as such for valid reasons. I'm sure this was always intended to be a temporary measure. Perhaps your boss simply didn't feel like explaining it.

Y'all missing the point, I dont even drive or use that exit. Might even agree with the safety reasons.

Im disappointed the BLACK person in charge of DIVERSITY thinks appeals to tradition are valid answers to anything.

Even if that was a valid reason, you're missing the point.
I don't care about the exit, I care about my boss being a hypocrite.

During the height of covid we started using one of the emergency exits as an exit and only using the main entrance as an entrance. Now that people are in denial covid still exists we use both doors as exits but... effective the 20th, we're no longer allowed to use the emergency exit as an exit. It's convenient for people who park closer to that exit, so I asked my boss why and his answer was...

"Because that's how it always was."

...and I just froze up because y'all know "because I said so" answers are baseless bullshit; but one of the other managers interrupted and said it was because of security; the guard station is in the front and I guess its problematic to have one of them stationed in the back. Less secure or whatever, okay, at least thats a matter of opinion and not an appeal to tradition but I just realized something...

MY BOSS IS BLACK. SHOULD WE GO BACK TO SLAVERY "BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT ALWAYS WAS?"

...I'm being hyperbolic but, do you see my point!? AND he's in charge of the diversity groups, like for Latinos and LGBT. SO... dude is supposed to believe in changing things for the better; yet he appeals to tradition.
