Ha! You make that sound so easy. I was preapproved for a mortgage loan in January at a 3% rate. Every 3 months you have to get new preapproval. When I got the second pre-approval I thought it would be great, I had saved up an additional 20k, my credit score was a bit higher, and I had zero debt. My rate increased to 6% because of the market. Not only that, the bids I did put on homes were out bid by people (future landlords) and companies (to resale at higher cost, or to turn into a rental community) with no cap, meaning there was nothing I could do. It is currently nearly impossible to buy a house in this market. Landlords are buying up everything. You cannot even compete.

Note every additional % increases your mortgage payment by about $500, so going from 3% to 6% meant $3k and higher payments, not counting the ridiculous taxes in my area and HOA fees.

My rent went up $210 for no reason at all as well. I wrote a letter to see if they were willing to negotiate and this is their response:

Thank you for your letter regarding your lease situation. Our renewal rates are not negotiable due to fair housing laws.

That is not at all how the Fair Housing Laws were meant to be used, but there's nothing we can actually do about it. So I went to the community building and posted up a note asking if everyone's rent was going up, displaying my increased rent (with number of bedrooms), showing what my rent used to be and the rent with the current increase.

Apparently a lot of my fellow renters did not know that their rent was going to go up when their lease was up, and because of this note they decided to leave. LOL

The note was taken down as soon as some jackass posted about it on our online message boards. (Management actually watches the online message boards and must approve everything that gets posted there, that is why I used the community building, they never go in there.)

I am mildly concerned. Today is Friday the 13th, and I haven't seen Misty or the tomcat all day, and now I don't know where Cinder is. All 3 are black cats and we still don't know what actually happened to Cinder last month.

If neither show up for breakfast, we're gonna call the shelter to see if either got dropped off. We don't really care about the tomcat, but it's unusual and there's superstitious loons out there that kill black cats around certain dates.

Any update?

How old is Midas? And how'd you get him leash trained?

He is about 8 years old. I have had him since he was 2. He always showed an interest in going outside so one day I just tried it and he was great. No real training was needed.

I took him to a little wine bar that was within walking distance and he met a HUGE Bernese Mountain Dog. They became buddies. He would literally climb this giant dog and take a nap.

He came from a rescue that got him from an older lady. This older lady had 80+ cats, all flat faces and she would just breed them with each other, over and over again. Midas is quite inbred (he is a dwarf, only 5-6 lbs). I have a theory that Midas is not exactly all there. He seems to have been born with NO fear. He loves humans, runs towards them, he doesn't run from loud noises, he is fine with water, vacuum gets no reaction, he fears NOTHING.

Right now we have ducks in the backyard. I have tried to earn their trust by feeding them walnuts and grapes everyday, because Midas just absolutely loves these ducks. He would not hurt them, but the ducks do not know that... so I am hoping the ducks start to trust a little bit and let Midas go near them, he would be ecstatic.

Not the best movie...

Midas is happy he can finally walk on a leash again, as the weather is cooperating.

I always liked the thought of it, looks cute on most folks Ive seen in person with it.just cant bring myself to consider it because when I inevitably want to grow it back out- there are going to be so many super awkward ugly growth stages. Maybe thats why most people I know who ever had that haircut still have it lol

Id be too embarrassed as a fat person to go to a gym and exist in it while fat and not knowing how to use the equipment. All the fit girls would point and laugh and whisper to their friends what a fat loser

Most people are on their phone and not really paying attention to anyone around them. No one would laugh. At the gym I go to there is a very heavy set guy, he is ALWAYS there. (Does not work there, I asked him, lol) He knows how to use all the machines, because of his weight he is far less intimidating than the other gym bros there and often helps people if he sees them struggling trying to figure out how something works.

There's a guy that works at the gym, he is ALWAYS dressed like a DBZ character. It is hilarious.

Also most machines have a little qr code you can scan for a quick video on how to use it.
