Not really, You don't see the sheer amount vileness from Edelgard fans towards people who like Rhea than do you from people who dislike Edelgard.

In fact the game is 3 years old and people are still going out of their way to show how much they hate a single video game character in a video game.

I'm talking in terms of overall quality I guess, rather than strength if that makes sense at all. Dark Magicians honestly do even less than BEWD and they're essentially just gone from existence the moment you step into anywhere high enough. But on my alt, every 4 duels is against a DM/BEWD pretty evenly.

But BEWD deck is so braindead to pilot that people dedicated enough just spam til they pick up enough fringe wins. It just hurts to even see them on the other side of the board.

Depends honestly. There's some good cards that combo with BEWD due to BEWD being a lvl 8 dragon monster. There's a couple of good rank 8 xyz dragons (one cheeses out numeron dragon for OTK and the other negates a spell). Since they are all light monsters, chaos dragon is also a good option too.

Like you are probably facing the people who go hardcore on only BEWD and not throwing in other good cards that actually make the deck solid.

Also don't forget from the tutorial one of the starter deck options was a BEWD deck (abeit a really bad one), but if you pick that you had a good start to build a deck from it.

Blue Eyes is probably the worst deck in the whole... meta? I mean they're clearly below rogue deck tier, but occasionally Chaos MAX slap down on the board is enough, and they're just smugly pleased that they summoned a single monster.

I feel like it's everything wrong with Yugiboomers all rolled into a single deck. Like extremely half-assed adoption of the game, refusal to actually play, just hopes playing 1 card solves all of their problems.

None of them reads either, but like every maybe 10 duels of easy wins, 1 of those games they just happen to not brick and I happen to not have any answers for them.

Oh and I seethe about that single game obviously

I think Dark Magician is overall weaker than Blue Eyes, as an archetype. Blue Eyes is just far more popular, because Blue Eyes was the card back when the anime started.

To be fair, reversal quiz has been around forever and is extremely inconsistent.

That's really all gimmick decks. The gimmick decks are just often cheaper to build, because they rely on synergy on bad cards and break if they can't pull all the pieces together.

Destroying and Negating are two different things.

You can negate an effect without destroying the card and you can destroy the card without negating the effect.

The only time that destroying an effect negates it is if the effect is reliant on being on the field such as most continuous spells/traps.

I wasn't paying attention and I ran into a suicide deck in normal ranked.

I just had another numeron deck use left arm offering to get lightning storm and then tried to blow up my barrier statue, but it was in defense position and then he just forfeited.

Nothing feels better than completely shutting down a numeron network deck.

It's such a cheese combo.

Yeah, I have a Barrier Statue in the deck already, and when I can get it down (usually after getting out some meat on the board), it's fantastic at annoying people. As for Simorgh, it is on my list of cards to craft next when I have the UR dust, along with Accesscode Talker, just to round the deck out a bit and give it some extra power.

Also idk what your decklist is, but if you aren't already Unexpected Dai (pretty sure you get copies from one of the solo gates) and the Normal Harpie Lady can get you something on the board. I run 2 copies of Unexpected Dai and 3 Normal Hapie Ladies. Largely so I don't brick myself later drawing Unexpected Dai.

So, Tri-Brigade Harpies is a surprisingly effective deck, and has helped get me out of Gold IV after weeks of edging up to Gold III (currently at Gold II, near Gold I), only to go on a losing streak due to being Brick Hands. It really doesn't like going first, though, but I admit that might be due to me being overly cautious.

Barrier Statue could help your turn 1s. I know Tri-Brigade isn't all wind monsters, but Simorgh is a good link to run with harpies and can get out barrier during end phase. Which can lock your opponent out of their main phase 1 unless they are running a wind deck or have rageki. Since Lightning Storm doesn't destroy defense position monsters and as long as it's in a zone Simorgh points to it can't be targetted.

I just had a match where I drew all harpie feather storms in my starting hand so I completely shut down my opponent from doing anything.

Where the fuck are people even encountering suicide decks? Is it cuz I'm in Gold? I face 1 in 20 duels...

I'm getting sick of playing these long duels tbh lol. Ppl take so long with really simple decisions...

I started facing them since I saw people talk about them. I still face plenty of real decks, but I just played against a suicide deck where I won due to Soul Relay.

The one nice thing about the suicide decks is I got the Unfathomable title for winning a duel without summoning.
