Solitaire is just a card game that's been replicated to a video game, so it might lose some points due to that.

Minesweeper could be fun to see. I never got why Tetris is hailed as one of the best video games ever while no one gives Minesweeper the time of the day in those talks, even though they have similar appeal and playrate.

It comes down to Other M and The Last Jedi are terrible pieces of media. People hate them so much it may distort individual arguments as to why they're bad. Maybe Malkovich is something that would be shrugged off in a better story, or even praised if done well. But that's not what Other M is; it's a festering pile of crap.

Eh, I feel like there's a fairly clear hierarchy of SNES > PS2 > PS1 > N64 at the top. Maybe N64 beats PS1 but probably not. Some matchups could be fun, but the biggest variable is how much people like handhelds in general and whoever gets that right wins the whole contest pretty much.

I'll be honest, it's probably going to be a bit. All of the Games sites are still new toys for RV and they still have plenty of things they want us to be doing right now. Trying to fit in a contest will be a hard ask.

The stuff that gets into the field is super diverse and not homogenous at all IMO, but were all aware that stuff like Neko Nabe, The Elephants Foot of Obnoxious Music, the ambient Uru track or that 75-minute thing have negligible chances of making it past the first round.

That 75 minute song might have a chance of making it through a round or 2 by virtue of people abstaining from voting in its matches because they don't want to spend that long listening.

This might be unpopular but would it help if the new nom cutoff was earlier than the final cutoff? Like for example, new noms are only accepted until the penultimate day and on the final 24 hours you can only post supports. I know it's been discussed that the cutoff can't be too early because of other problems.

But then how will we get Trails in the Sky SC music in at the last minute?

I like the idea of a single triple. Maybe even up it to a quadruple. It's a way to give people something close to a "get one song into the contest for free" card but the song has to be at least decent enough to get some support.
