Reminds me of that rumor circulating since the early 90s that Will Smith was bisexual and on the down low with Duane Martin.

Letty (for Leticia, Ladette, Colette, and Paulette)
Lottie (for Charlotte)
Natty (for Natalie)

Girl's nicknames that died out before my time. Literally. I'll find them on the occasional gravestone from the early to mid 20th century.

In their first few appearances together in BTAS, Ivy's reason for befriending Harley was left ambiguous. There were always hints that Ivy was manipulating Harley for her own purposes.

It's pretty much the original but Penny and her friends are aged up and it deals with modern topics.

Penny was 16 by the end of the first series. The animators changed the designs in the new series and wrote it as a growth spurt.

I remember an interview years ago where the studio head complained that some fans looked at the character heights and mistakenly thought Penny was in primary school. I guess he didn't want a repeat of the misunderstanding.

Biggest memory was Luis accompanying Bob when "Sing A Song" debuted in 1971. This one was before my time, but they reran it all through the 80s.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxOft5QZjDI

That's four human cast members I grew up with back in the day who are dead

David - Maria's first boyfriend on the show who ran Hooper's store.
Olivia - Gordon's sister who played on the sitcom 227 and originally sang "Reading Rainbow" theme.
Mr Hooper - of course.
Luis

David didn't even get an "In Memoriam" when his actor left and died back in 1988. They didn't want to tackle the real actor's addiction to pain medication.

This one is also before my time, but it includes the lineup that's most familiar to me:

McDonald's can't be the only restaurant in Russia. They should just eat somewhere else.

They seem to have only one domestic fast food chain, and it serves traditional Russian food. All their popular fast food chains seem to be foreign (KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Burger King). The concept of fast food restaraunts was probably something introduced to Russia during Perestroika.

...And not I am not joking about that.
Joking about the AIDS crisis which was borderline genocide against gay men in the 80's was not funny at all.
It is was an absolutely heartbreaking situtation.

I apologize, I didn't intend any harm. I should have been more sensitive with how I phrased it.

I meant to say that Ricky Wilson's surf guitar sound and style was the backbone of the B52s sound. When he died, his unique sound disappeared and the B52s sound was irrevocably changed. Even in later live concert's after his death when the B52s played their early hits, it just didn't sound the same.

Roam and Love Shack are fun, but they don't compare to the Ricky Wilson era B52s.

I wonder why no band ever tried to copy the B52s.

B52s can't even copy B52s. Their lead guitartist died in the mid-80s and their sound completely changed.

Also, Dirty Back Road is superior.

I think there isn't. If it's anything like the book of Revelations talking about the perfect earth before everyone goes to heaven even. I think in the Bible it says there will be a period where heaven is on earth, and all evil is gone. And all lifeforms will eat "Mana". Yes, the stuff rpgs got that word from. Basically it's magical foodstuff made by God. In the old Testament, the wandering Hebrews ate it in the desert

Jews and early Christians believed that there would be no meat eating in Paradise. In fact, the Essene and early Christian Jews like the Ebionites were vegetarians because they believed the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand.

There are also examples of vegetarianism as an ideal in ancient Judaism.[5]Genesis 1:29 states "And God said: Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree that has seed-yielding fruitto you it shall be for food." Many scholars see the Torah as thereby pointing to vegetarianism as an ideal, as Adam and Eve did not partake of the flesh of animals as all humans and animals were originally commanded by God to only eat plants.[6] According to some interpretations, God's original plan was for mankind to be vegetarian, and God only later gave permission for man to eat meat in a covenant with Noah (Genesis 9:117) as a temporary concession because of Man's weak nature. This concessionary view of meat-consumption is based on the scriptural analysis of several Rishonim.[7]

To be honest, all of Sterling's complaints about the game are in reality about the elitism in the community. To be blunt, the designers very much intended to make "Git Gud: The Game", which is why the game mechanics is focused on learning enemy tells, pattern recognition of attack strings, and improving.

I don't think changing the game and compromising the vision of the designer is the answer. I think the focus should be changing the community to be more supportive of players who are having difficulty. When someone denigrates a new player with "git gud," you should combat this by reassuring the new player and offer strategies that can help.

IIRC it started with a popular parody twitter, Nihilist Arby's, that was mocking the chain.

Then Arby's hired the comedian behind it to run their official Twitter. Everyone just copied the idea with their own spin.

Can we please stop blaming the minor and put the blame squarely on the child sweat shop that is the Russian Olympics program.

Shit reminds me of this promising Russian gymnast of the same age who back in the 70s broke her neck on a maneuver that was already considered dangerous. She warned her coach she didn't feel well enough to do it, but was pressured into doing it anyway. The accident left her a quadriplegic and she eventually died in her early 40s.

You're probably right. The dude humped a Mary-Kate doll in front of his child co-stars on the set of "Full House." He would have landed on a sex offender registry if he hadn't been making millions for ABC at the time.
