But a huge part of the appeal of Tanya's character imo is specifically her desire to build up accomplishments and promotions so that she can get to a comfy office job in the rear and stay out of danger

I don't really see what being an isekai has to do with this. It's not like it'd be hard to believe she just wants off the front lines because fighting in a war is not a great life.

Political appointees for judges remains absolutely insane and I cant believe that you guys do it.

How do other countries do it? Legit curious. Electing judges seems to work even worse, and I'm not sure how to create a politically-neutral group to appoint them instead. I always thought the big difference was that other countries just didn't have any courts as powerful as the US Supreme Court.

Well yeah, "The Troubles: US Edition" is the more likely path for politically-motivated violence to escalate. But if there was going to be a serious rebellion/secession attempt, there's no way the right would start it.

You've got it backwards. If there was somehow going to be a big civil war in the US (not happening), the "rebels" would probably be blue states fighting against a GOP-controlled federal government.
