They said the cat was clogged (don't know if only a certain part of it can get clogged) but they'd probably have to get new O2 sensors anyways

i mean, both jobs are super simple and can be done with simple hand tools on the side of the road. Peronally i'd say just buy the gasket(s) if you have the v6 or inline 4, and a replacement cat and do the work yourself.

The summary left me said I need the B2 Entry cat replaced and the part is $820 but on rockauto they don't cost that much.

IIRC youve got 2 cats on that. The manifold cat is a PITA to get to, the exhaust cat is easy.

Yes, it's the front driver side cat or something. I actually changed the gaskets with my supervisor and we didn't have the torque wrench so we just tightened it back on as tight as possible so I think that's why it only lasted 4 years.

I have a 2001 nissan maxima that needs a new cat converter and valve cover gaskets that equates to ~$2,400. Or I can buy a new car at around $22,000 with a 4K down payment. Buying anything pre-owned is a rip-off right now.
