I feel like backing in to a space is a lot less necessary these days with how great backup cameras are. They provide so much more visibility than I'd ever get from look behind me and checking the mirrors.

I've never had a car with a backup camera. Used it a few times on my wife's old car and I never liked it. I would still prefer to turn my head and look.

Maybe cuz I was one of the first ones here. There's only like 5 people in the entire lounge. I had a nice breakfast with hardboiled eggs, a fruit bowl, blueberry muffin, and a cappuccino.

I hear some of these lounges get over packed though. If that's the case I would simply leave. I don't like crowded places. Before access to this I normally find an empty terminal to chill at until I board.

Everything from loafers, moccasins, dress shoes.

They are all sick and exactly fit my style. But they're like 200-300 each. All "authentic Italian leather and hand made" I can't find cheaper replicas anywhere. I just don't like the style.

But I just can't get over spending $1000 pm 3-4 pairs of shoes. Although I am super picky and never really buy shoes unless I love em. I bought 3 pairs of sperries and 2 dress shoe in the last 10 years. So maybe $500/10 yrs.

The toughest step is realizing that this is a problem and actually wanting to fix it.

Next, you actually should deep dive into your past and think about what your insecurities are and try to figure out where they stem from. Get to the root of the problem. Once you address that you'll be free. In most cases you're conditioned a certain way based on how you were raised and your outlook on life.

My only dilemma is now whether to book direct or book through amex travel where I get 5x points for what I spend.

For this Toronto trip I booked a one way to Toronto direct with American...was the best way to do it, paid about $60 for premium economy so now I get an exit row seat and free checkin($30 value) and a free drink. I booked a one way return with Amex travel and paid for it all with points. I did enter it my American airlines number and it immediately appeared on my American airlines app, so that was convenient. But I didn't have the same options for premium economy.

how is this a "big" purchase? arent you a doctor...

Ya but I've been in training for the last 10 years...and in training we basically get less than minimum wage for the hours we work. On top of that I had 2 kids back to back and wife hasn't worked for the last 3 years because of that so we're a single income family pretty much living paycheck to paycheck. On top of that I just moved my family across the country which was several thousands of dollars despite being frugal about the move.

September 1st is a huge date for me. I start work as an attending physician and about 2 weeks after that get my first big paycheck. I did moonlighting here and there but nothing substantial because my training was so goddamn busy.

it's entry level nice. for that price, that watch is probably worth it. my only word of caution is that if it's your first nice watch, i'd get something more versatile. how many days will you actually wear a gold watch? the silver one on leather is only $575.

the 80 hour power reserve is probably the best thing about tissot, that exceeds almost all luxury brands

I only really wear it when dressing up for occasions...either a suit or nice clothes when out for dinner/date or whatever. I wear alot of browns and blues casually, and my wedding band is gold so thata why I'm specifically looking for a brown/gold. I also wear mostly gray or navy suits so gold goes better with that.

To me 575 vs 675 is more or less the same. No need to settle to save $100 if I'm spending that much to begin with.

I honestly think there's a whole new wave of mental health problems that comes with social media that these younger generation are dealing with that fortunately us 30+ year olds never had to deal with.

In our day social media was used in a positive way...to communicate, share pictures, organize events....nowadays social media sets the standards of modern living....and they set unrealistically high standards of beauty, social life, wealth, clothes, etc. I think younger people have more anxiety because of it, more self esteem issues, and thus less sex having.

Whats stopping our government from simply capping gas prices?

The government has the right to regular trade for the benefit of the people. The same way they create price floors in agriculture they can create a gas cap. They can make some formula that calculates out how much the differences would be state to state but it would boost the economy for sure.

I get the active vs passive argument, but I can't see how allowing a still-living body to die of dehydration or suffocation is more ethical than peacefully putting someone to sleep.

Because you're not letting them suffer as it happens. You're treating pain and anxiety but not treating the untreatable, futile, medical condition. I do this for a living, I'm happy to explain in more detail.

Abortion is like euthanasia / physician-assisted suicide - something I also agree with people having the right to. It's not murder, but it is terminating a life and should carry weight with it.

Your viewpoint on this is inaccurate too. Euthanasia is not something thats done. Terminating a life is completely different than terminally withdrawing life support. One of those things is active murder, the other is letting nature take its course.

A baby can survive in this world detached from its mother. A fetus can't and before 20-22ish weeks, a fetus can't survive even on maximum life support.

So the second agent I spoke with said I'd be on hold for 4 hours but he could call me back. He called me back at 2am and was like, "hey everything should work, but i forgot what flight you wanted to change to." After I told him he was like great you should get a new itinerary or a call back in about an hour from us.

I got no call back and now its been 4 hours since his last call. I called a new agent who I went through the same process with and is now telling me it may take up to 48 hours to resolve. I was like, uhhh dude my flight is tonight. If this doesn't resolve in the next 8 hours I have to get on that flight tonight. I was like, "I've been on hold with 2 expedia agents, for about 4 hours total, and none of them were able to help and I never heard back. How can I trust that you guys will figure this out tomorrow or the day after? If I miss tonights flight and you guys are unable to help like the last 2 agents, then I'm stuck with no flight."

He just gave me a generic, "I apologize, I understand, but unfortunately..." etc.

Then I was like, dude I'm never using expedia again, I'd be better off just calling the airline directly.

Immediately after we ended, I got a call back from another expedia agent who is now working on it. She sounded more experienced cuz she sorta got straight to business. But now this is the 4th agent I'm talking to.

Real agent said she had to transfer me to the flight team after taking several minutes to type single sentences. I asked to talk to someone over the phone and she said it cant be done over the phone. The actual uses for the card are pretty limited but can be used to drive across the border and domestically as an ID.

I did both since its done at the same time and the cost wasn't that much. Just like $30 or something? I do once every few years drive across the border. If going to vancouver or toronto, its often cheaper to fly to bellingham or buffalo and driving across. Also theres been times where I'm hanging out in san diego, drunk with the guys, and someone suggests, "lets go to tijuana!"..in that situation I rather not bring my book, and just have the passport ID.
