This is a pretty good one. They fucked up by one particular reveal. Spoilers for the whole show, only click if you've watched The Mentalist or don't care about it being spoiled:
They revealed that the big bad shook the main character's hand in the past. Presumably they did this before they knew who they were going to write in, and didn't think that Jane shaking someone's hand was going to narrow things down a bit. Anyway, in the end the identity is just desperately random.

Very much this. The person who eventually turned out to be Red John just knew way too much for the sake of plot convenience, even if you take his connections with the Tiger Tiger network into account.
I remember that in one of the final episodes Patrick Jane had deduced the identity of Red John to seven possible suspects that only Jane himself knew about, and Red John guessed them all correctly, which they never explained at the end aside from "yeah that was a good trick."

Star Trek: the Next Generation

they wrote an episode where warp travel was causing damage to the fabric of space. After that, there was a new speed limit on warp travel. If the starship Enterprise wanted to go faster than the speed limit, they had to request special permission from the Federation. Then every other show featured Captain Picard requesting permission from the Federation to exceed the speed limit. It added nothing to the drama of the show, and was merely a waste of time. Eventually the writers discarded the warp speed limit, without saying anything about it

Yeah, iirc it was some kind of social commentary about the environment. You'd think with such a big change in the rules they'd think ahead of a general idea on how to solve that in the series.

At the very least they could've added a throwaway line of using a more durable form of warp travel. Wouldn't be thank unthinkable either, since the Federation had also convinced the other major factions in the Alpha Quadrant to limit their warp speed.

Bisexual people don't stop being bisexual. They're just bisexual.

Also, some (i.e. quite a lot) people do not commonly show stereotypical and/or noticeable behaviour when it comes to sexuality. So yeah, sometimes there can be an issue or episode with a bisexual person not showing any 'bisexual behaviour', but that doesn't mean they're like taking a break from being bisexual.

Literally everyone who was conscious during his time and afterwards has heard of him and at least a few of his songs, regardless of whether they actually like his music (or any music in general at all) or not.

Honestly surprised at people even considering Michael Jordan being arguably more famous than Jackson. As someone who is neither American nor into basketball, I don't think I'd ever even have heard of him if I didn't see Space Jam as a kid.

The bank I got my debit card from grants me points for my recurring use of its various services. Those points can be spent in their shop, which offers all kinds of brand products and coupons. For most things the points are just a partial payment and your still have to pay some money to buy a product, plus most of those products are fancy brands that are vastly overpriced.

Still, I sometimes use my points to buy coupons or movie tickets.

From what I remember this is a recurring thing in RE games, especially when the protagonist first encounters a zombie or new type of creature. They just stand there gawking at it, and you don't regain control until the creature is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.

Because, like, there are 27 geometric shapes on that paper that are by definition a triangle. You know, three sides, three vertexes, totally enclosed shape, only straight lines, ect.

If I drew a triangle, then drew a circle entirely within that triangle, do you suddenly get confused about what shapes you're looking at or something?

No, but that's beside the point. I maintain that yhe answer is dependent on whatever logic the student chooses to apply, in which case there is no single correct answer.

The 'correct' answer is completely dependent on whatever logic the participant chooses to apply. I might as well act like a wise guy by saying "well akshully I see like hundreds of triangles in my field of vision, because the question didn't state I should limit the counting of triangles to this paper lol"

But the answer is obviously 21.
