Belfast is a strange film in that when it finishes you're left thinking wow what a film but the longer you think about it the more issues it has. I can see it's portrayals being VERY polarising, obviously. It reminds me of 8 Mile in the way everyone kind of sees it as a biopic even if that wasn't the intention and that's going to be what a lot of people see, which is a shame. I think the acting is solid. Buddy's innocence and naivety is brilliant, not sure if that's acting or just him being himself though. Ciaran Hinds is excellent. 7/10 CODA has some excellent moments though I'm not as impressed because it's basically La Famille Belier which was only released like 10 year ago.
