FE17 (New Game)
- Different routes return, and their are three of them in total.
- The three routes each have 2 different finales and endings depending on your choices, for a total of 6 endings.
- Characters from older games are summonable, which is the games main gimmick. DLC will add more summonable characters after launch.
- Most of the summonable characters come from Fire Emblem Three Houses, Fates, and Genealogy. (Due to FE4 being remade)
- Examples of summonable characters include Nowi, Finn, Camilla, Felix, Bernadetta, Ryoma and Xander, and their retainers.
- S ranks and child units return, but are locked until later in the story. Child units are able to summon the child units from Fire Emblem Fates and Genealogy.
- The main lord has a special relic that gives them special powers. They can gain the physical characteristics and abilities of the characters that they summon.
- Plot focuses around the outrealms, which the old characters are appearing from.
- Like Fates, there are three characters from the previous entry that travel through the outrealms to this world. Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude are all playable, but you only get 1 per route.
- Fire Emblem 17 will also have a new hub world similar to the monastery, but much larger and with more activities to do.

FE18 (FE4 Remake)
- The Fire Emblem 4 remake WILL have an avatar! There are more customization options for the avatar than in previous entries, including choosing up to two different holy bloods for them.
- The avatar is playable in both gen1 and gen2 of the Fire Emblem 4 remake, and can romance characters from both gen1 and gen2. The avatar also has their own child unit, but only if they romance a gen1 character.
- Some characters who werent normally able to be romanced in the original game now are able to be romanced.
- All replacement gen2 characters have been removed.
- Weapon triangle returns. All characters able to critical and double naturally.
- Holy weapons are weaker than in the original Fire Emblem 4
- Most weapons and items are now able to be traded.
- All castles are fully explorable like the monastery in Three Houses, but with more activities to do.
- Some story changes:
Arvis and Deidre are no longer siblings.
Child hunts are still mentioned, but any mention or instance of children dying is removed
- Several characters from FE5 make appearances.
- Eyvel, Ishtar, Reinhardt, and Arion are all fully recruitable.

Every character has a second ending.

- Get the first ending for a character
- Play Story Mode with that character and run to the hole that leads down to
the sewer. Don't Kill the first character you meet.
- When you get there, injure your opponent's leg and jump into the hole
- Beat the next five opponents honorably and by not getting a single hit
The second ending for that character should now be played.

- Adol looks like a young boy, around the age of Ys I & II.
- A woman who looks to be the main heroine is shown. Uses a one-handed ax. Their arms are connected by an aura-shaped string/cord.
- 1 versus 1 combat is a focus, with huge changes to the party member switching mechanic and weapon attributes. Personally, this seems akin to Ys VI, though it isnt entirely certain yet.
- Souls-like inspirations are stated, but not overt.

- Mentions an emphasis on providing new gameplay, as well as new scenarios, actions, and systems.
- The title will take place in Eresia, though the writer of the Famitsu article paints this as speculation.
- Kondo emphasizes that Ys X is not a full-on Souls-like, as there is simply inspiration taken from the genre
- Kondo recommends any Ys game for newcomers. Later games like Ys VIII and IX are explicitly stated and shouldnt be intimidating because theyre standalone.
- Ys Xs story will not be centered around the Romun Empire
- The Party Member system where you change characters and weapon attributes (Slash, Pierce & Strike) at will has received major changes, though it hasnt yet been elaborated how
