Just ignoring mechanical concepts; it's a world where you live on a few silver pieces a day, goblins and orcs might be raiding your village, the graveyard might be full of zombies, and the heroes are going to demand a few hundred gold pieces to deal with these issues--otherwise it's not worth their time.

Xbox 360. Only console in a collection stretching back to the NES that is broken and its library unplayable. A system so poorly made and delicate they habitually couldn't survive regular use under optimal conditions.

Yeah, for one it's Epic exclusive. The other thing that I recall hearing is that the new relationship system sucks. Instead of the party disintegrating because of eldritch horrors (like spooky wine thrown in the face), they're bickering like high school kids over relationships. I was really hoping a sequel would refine the trait system so that if the leper has a breakdown from fighting undead he'd be afraid of them rather than randomly afraid of the cove or cheating at poker.

Also remember hearing that it's a slog of a game because it's now a normal roguelike. The entire point is the carriage ride to Hell and you have to start over each time you die; rather than having the hamlet send out disposable adventurers and investing in them.

Don't waste your time on Phoenix Point. It's a scam where the developers begged for money to make the game then screwed their funders to look for the Epic handout. Once they got that they farted out an incomplete, ugly game because quality wasn't important; they got their money already.

Despair is natural but everything is terrible and getting worse.

Which one? There's a bunch of titles in the series and quality swings a bit. The original ''X-COM'' is rough to play but a great game; the new reboot is very streamlined but still a ton of fun.

Let's not and hope it never happens.

I only had the Gameboy game. It was pain.

I agree that even a Souls-like game needs a pause function. Life sometimes happens, I need the game to stop now.

But it's otherwise brilliant and this is a minor complaint.
