Here there is still a conscription of sorts, but the requirement of attendance has been suspended.

Even so, if it were still active here, even though I know I would fail the physical, I would have been a conscientious objector. And whether that would have meant jail-time or some kind of replacement civic duty, I would have been fine with that.

There are always alternatives and thus a choice.

Murder does not only have a legal definition, it also has a colloquial meaning. People have every right to believe a killing was wrongful and thus murder. Whether it legally qualifies, is separate from that.

Do not worry, I never had any faith in layman-jury-based systems to begin with.

Self defense is a thing that exists in America.

Nothing about the paragraph remotely suggests self-defense.

Depends on the specific mecha and era, but people in suits, puppets and CGI are all used.

Edit: I remember seeing photos of the Won Tiger suit with the actor not wearing the mask/helmet/head, but no idea where to look for it again.

I thought things were in doubt because of the verdict, but the opening paragraph of the wiki page quite clearly describes the murders and how they happened in quite some detail....

Nah, the news worthy part is that governments are starting to agree. And instead of self-reflection, they just skip those countries. Makes me wonder what happens once a country that actually represents a large market changes their gambling laws.
