Sony is desperately trying to do their own cinematic universe using only Spider-Man characters but they keep accidentally making them all bad movies and can't even easily incorporate Spider-Man into it and it's all only just barely hanging on to a thread because Venom 1 was for some reason sort of successful even though it wasn't a particularly great movie either.

I'm glad Draven won instead of the two same characters, Link or Cloud. Draven at least has personality unlike the other 2 typical blond hair blue eyes protagonist.
I agree but to be fair Cloud actually does have a pretty unique and wild character arc in FF7. He's just stereotyped as boring and stoic and edgy because that's how he is in Kingdom Hearts and even kind of in Advent Children. Link shouldn't ever win any character polls though, if the character poll is actually about the character and not just "vote for your favorite game series this character represents".

what games out of curiosity?
Well, a bunch - but recently I'm into the DemiKids games on the GBA and it's a decent example. Actually this is a more fortunate example than others because although they're not very popular the games do get a little extra attention by being connected to more popular Shin Megami Tensei games. But in any case, the FAQs there are extremely barebones and a lot of good knowledge is only preserved in late message board posts. Actually I had to wayback machine to see some of those good posts there too because some posts get deleted for whatever various reasons. Who knows for sure but I'd bet there was a good bit of helpful info posted pre-2008 closer to when the games came out and would've had an audience.

In Japanese games like this it's often useful to navigate the Japanese side of the web and see if they document it better than us but that can be hit or miss too. I've imported guide books in a couple cases to see info that's not documented well on either side of the web. Last resort for me is sometimes even when a game is otherwise obscure, there might be a small dedicated speedrunning community that documented some good info. But I'm really a completionist and their knowledge would obviously be less geared to completionism and more towards quicker strategies. But dedicated speedrunners are the ones who dig up game mechanic nuances the most I think. Also, speedrunning info these days often just gets dumped in various discord servers which is even worse for preservation than gamefaqs boards are...

Seems like a common problem in sketch comedy that endings are hard. More egregiously, in the earlier seasons of Whitest Kids U Know there's multiple sketches where they basically tell their audience they don't know how to end it, then bring on a censored naked woman and tell you to buy the DVD to see her uncensored.

Is this a surprise? Most politicians don't bother running a second time when they lose the first time. When they lose once, their political career is badly impacted forever. The one and only exception would be Nixon, but he also tried to fake his way into a re-election. Who knows what he did to get elected from the start.
This isn't a surprise but I don't think your reasoning here is why. Hillary literally did run twice with the first being in 2008. Biden ran three times before winning (but the first was pretty removed from the second). Romney ran twice before becoming nominee. Bernie ran twice. And a bunch of other rando's in the recent primaries in both parties have been in the background a few times

It was a weird feature. Basically a second wallet to put your money, except most people probably wouldn't ever fill up their regular wallet to the max so it's just needlessly dividing your money into a place where you would need to manually grab it if you want it. The only real purpose is that some of the room decorations and things can only be bought by your mom when she gets a certain amount of money, but I wonder how many people knowingly did it for that reason.

I think a lot of the people fervently arguing for difficulty options might be surprised that souls games aren't as impenetrable as the marketing or hype around the games would have you believe. You do die a lot but it's not "super duper hardest game ever for hardcore gamers only", which is the reputation the series developed. And From kind of leaned into it when they name things like "Prepare to Die Edition". But the games are a lot more accessible than a lot of people who haven't played them would think, and the wide appeal of Elden Ring is showing that now.

TopicHow badly do consolidation loans affect your credit score?
Kuuko
03/07/22 6:20:20 PM

It's unlikely to significantly affect your credit score positively or negatively. Maybe it could affect it if your loans are some of the older accounts in your credit profile and thus having one new loan replacing them lowers the average age of your accounts. But if you can lower the interest rates you're paying by consolidating then that's much better than any minor impact it would have. The point of a good credit score is to save you money so it's generally counter-intuitive to pay more money for a higher score, especially when the difference in score is negligible

I think Pattinson's Batman was pretty good. It was just playing a different persona of Batman than the other movies and maybe different than the persona some people's first idea of Batman is. You can represent Batman from so many different angles and center a story around an angle - he's all of a super detective and maybe computer hacker, or super martial artist, or billionaire who makes tanks and mecha armor who fights aliens, or maybe he's almost a super scientist himself, or you can make a story emphasizing his fatherly relationship with his robins and batgirls, or emphasize his tragic backstory and the corresponding mental disorders they've given him (especially juxtaposed with his often similarly mentally ill villains).

Bale's Batman was more billionaire martial artist Batman. Less detective, and when he's alone or chatting with Alfred he even seemed kind of upbeat all things considered. I don't think we really saw a lot of development out of Affleck's Batman since he was sharing movies but to me it was mostly the billionaire scientist alien-fighting Batman. Pattinson's was all-in on detective, mentally tortured Batman. More grounded than Bale's and certainly Affleck's. It didn't even really play up the martial artist side - random mooks were getting hits on him. Probably not going to see him fighting parademons with bat-laser-guns like in Justice League.

Sterling is right about this. The sheer amount of elitism and superiority that exists from the Souls community is astounding. A new player cant even ask for advice on these games without getting insulted for it. Its far worse than just saying nonsense like git gud. They actively hate any newcomer that wants to try and get into this genre.
If anything I think it's the literal complete opposite. Whenever I see someone playing a Souls game for the first time Souls fans are rushing to overload the new player with tips and knowledge, almost to the point where I think it might ruin a new player's organic experience. Like explaining in DS1 how to get the Drake Sword or to kill the Undead Merchant for his Uchigatana and explaining nuanced mechanics about weapon scaling unwarranted.

The only time a player would be anything close to admonished is if they were complaining about the game being unfair and their deaths being the game's fault rather than the player's fault. Everyone dies in Souls games a lot, but patience and thinking about what you could've done to avoid death is what the game mechanics are centered around.

Probably not. Democrats hold the weakest possible majority they could have in the legislature as any bill requires all 50 Democrats in the Senate to sign on and as it is Senators Manchin / Sinema consistently side with conservatives. It's difficult to imagine that indeed if the Democrats performed poorly in the mid-terms that anyone would be very emboldened about the change. Things would just be slightly more halted than they are now.
